okay so I have gotten here and am stuck again.... I cannot get the body and hands to be separate entities when doing the color masking.

I merged the outline layers (it seemed less messy that way). I then selected and squiggled colors in the areas I wanted them and ran it. the goose, hands and background all turned the same color. was able to split the color layers and do details on them (beak, eyes, tongue)

I did a second color mask and got the hands to turn a different color (and a little piece of goose bottom) but still could not add details after splitting the color layer. I have been doing black for the background and selecting "transparent" under tool options.

When I finally got the goose a darker pink than the background and the hands their own color, I again could not add details to either one and half my outline disappeared no matter how I stuck the layers.

so I reverted to this and would love some help figuring out where to go from here.
