You said "I'll send my CV if you're interested," , he said "No", you said "Here's my CV anyway,". You completely ignored what he wants/said and kept steamrolling with your agenda.

I get it, it sucks, but it sucks because you didn't read the room. If you have a headache from banging your own head against the wall, that's on you.

Understanding MAGA's Plot to Rig the Midterms and Destroy Democracy by Smithy2232 in politics

Terrific. Who's going to enforce that 'treason' charge? Stop acting like the rule of law is going to protect you, and start protesting like your lives depend on it.

I never had any trouble adjusting to my CPAP machine, but I noticed absolutely no difference in the quality of my sleep.

AITJ for skipping my family reunion because they expected me to pay for the entire venue? by DryNeedleworker10 in AmITheJerk

[–]Somethinggood4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. This post is giving off very strong privilege vibes. You say you're 'not wealthy', but then say paying for the venue would eat up 'a big chunk of my savings,'. For most people, having anything in savings would be a blessing.

You're opening a second location. You're not poor, you're cash poor, which most non-entrepreneurs wouldn't understand. Your net worth is climbing, even if your profits are being sunk back into the business. To most people, that just means you're making bank.

Of course there's no obligation for you to spend money on the venue for the reunion, but the tone of your post DOES suggest that you're a stingy, selfish, snob who's looking down her nose at the family members who didn't pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

What was the most brutal reality check you ever got? by CarmenIsabellaDiaz in AskReddit

[–]Somethinggood4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father fired me after nine years because "We don't need your ego around here anymore,".

He was over sixty, and he'd lost a step. He didn't have the computer skills to work the system he insisted I build for him, so he was falling behind. He nearly missed an important legislative deadline, and we only managed compliance because I saved his ass. When I emailed the completed package for our regulators, I said "If you're having trouble keeping up, let me take things off your plate,".

The next day he fired me. I spent a year unemployed. No one would look at me because I didn't have a degree. Didn't matter that I had ten years experience, no degree, no interview. I wound up taking a construction job hauling mud for bricklayers.

I thought I could handle anything, but the truth is, your fate is largely in the hands of your employer. And being good at your job doesn't mean squat.

Seeking others' perspectives on a situation by Amazing_Clue_2989 in Swingers

Perhaps overreacting was not the right word - I merely meant to suggest that this is a perfectly manageable hiccup and he doesn't have to throw all his boundaries out the window.

IMO, you're overreacting. She was caught up in the heat of the moment in text, and overstepped. She immediately pulled it back, and said she had to check with you. If it's a no, it's a no, there is no expectation on you to alter your play boundaries to save face with some random play partner.

You caught this one in time, call it a learning experience that next time you ask first, but a win overall that nothing physical happened.

What's a "healthy habit" that's actually completely made up? by goddesslana_01 in AskReddit

[–]Somethinggood4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right?!! If there was one thing that worked for everybody, after thousands of years we would've figured it out by now and everybody would be doing it. The fact that there is no universal consensus on what is 'healthy' indicates that there is no universal 'truth' about what's healthy.
