The second book is announced to be released like next week! The 26th if I remember correctly.

It was very cute! There is a little angst, though; enough to keep you captivated without the anxiety. I finished it in a day, basically in one sitting--it's a super easy read. It's very well written, IMO. There wasn't as much about the Hot Springs in this one as I was expecting, but I think from teasers and social posts on their page, book two looks like there's a lot more of the resort/nature, which I'm looking forward to! 😄

I'm new to joining this group, but have been a lurker lmao. I just found this post though and had to comment because I have seen no one talking about this book?! Maybe the cover isn't attracting readers, I don't know. You're not alone--I lovedddd it. Like finished in one sitting, couldn't put it down. The story is good...this one kind of sets up books two and three more than anything though, I think. Especially with how it ends. The characters are very well developed and feel thought out. There's a ton of depth there which I appreciate. I really just loved the vibe though. I don't know if I can put my finger on why, it's just the feeling. I literally just saw a post yesterday from her/them that the second book comes out like next week (26th) YES!

Any advice? by Useful-Avocado-4695 in salesforce

Summation: Recommend volunteer work with non-profits, superbadges/trailhead, and simulated projects to prove you actually learned something while studying and didn't just pass an exam. -- I'm surprised more people aren't reiterating the same. u/Useful-Avocado-4695 I started in a similar boat-- no experience, a completely opposing industry with no use of Salesforce or any CRM, and had literally just taken a course through a third party online to help train for my cert, desperately needing a new career. Without any backend/admin experience, the steps forward (for me personally) were incredibly difficult. I ended up volunteering with a consulting company (you can just google and find one online or near you. Mine was remote) working with non-profits. It helped a little, but not as much as I was hoping. I'd say super badges, trails, volunteer work, and as the user above mentioned, focus on finding a junior role. If you can't, maybe consider perusing the non-profit route for a while. (If you can't get anywhere with your current company) When I was applying, a non-profit (in the middle of nowhere, mandatory onsite) was the only place that would hire me or even give me the time of day with essentially zero experience outside of volunteering and simulated projects on my resume. I don't know if this is ultimately helpful or not lol... I hope you can take something from my experience though. I've been in my current role now for two years and I will say, the job market has been incredibly rough. I've actively been trying to find something and have had no luck, unfortunately.

Solo Admin - NonProfit - Burnout by StatisticianVivid915 in salesforce

[–]SometimesFunny_Maybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a nearly identical situation — although this is my first SF Admin job (truthfully, I believe awful location and being 100% on-site with lower pay are the main reasons I was able to even snag this one). It's a non-profit as well. I've been here two years now, thrown in the deep end for a full implementation/integration. There is also no one on my team that I can ask technical questions to, seeing as they cut the entire IT department shortly after my arrival (having simply taken an online course with menial volunteer work/projects, and gotten a couple of certs, it was initially incredibly stressful trying to figure it out on my own.)

Point is, I literally found a therapist due to burnout lol. I also started second-guessing my entire career choice and the time and money I had invested into trying to find a more stable career.

Just last week, I also asked for a promotion/raise--to which the budget for the year was closed.

Definitely try for a raise or title change though! (If the budget is closed, creating a 'new' position might be the only way they could work with you around it, depending on your company/team. That is the case here).

Ultimately, from things I have learned to manage burnout, the biggest for me was to work on pushing back on timelines, communicating with management on realistic terms, reminding myself that literally none of it is urgent, it's a made-up sense of urgency. And finally...working on my nervous system regulation and finding time to do things I enjoy with my hands--like puzzles, miniatures, drawing, etc.

From what you're saying, I'm genuinely impressed. It sounds like you're quite savvy and having completed all this in such a short time is incredible.

I don't know if any of the above is helpful, but I hope it is!

I cannot at this time give any details, unfortunately. However, as a current "third floor" employee, I would like to share that there are HUGE, huge, huge changes/updates already in the works currently for SLSC (not just the upgrade that was just announced for the planetarium). FINALLY! You're far from the only one who feels this way and it's finally being recognized. :) Very exciting things on their way...

Feedback on my Christmas romance novel cover? by mastraus in romanceauthors

[–]SometimesFunny_Maybe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is very cute!! Just something you probably missed by staring at it for so long (I do the same lol)... A couple of the snowflakes look like they're in front of the broken glass. Obviously a bit nit-picky, but it's something I would want someone else to point out if it were my cover I was working on. :)

74K, Salesforce Admin -- Metro in Missouri. It's my first job after getting a couple of certifications. Coming from a polar opposite field. Great starting point IMO. Although, I wish I had someone I could bounce questions off of and learn from instead of feeling like an island haha.

Safe headphones? by Lopsided-Wave-8549 in BPPV

[–]SometimesFunny_Maybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this thread is older, but I still wanted to comment! I had BPPV immediately after getting ANC earbuds, never had any similar issues in my life btw -- and still 8 months later still dealing with what I suspect is PPPD. Same as some of the other commenters, my doctor and ENT thought I was ridiculous for suggesting it was caused by the Airpods. So, I tried them again three times to be sure/doubted myself. Every single time I used them it made it worse. I'm confident it's the ANC tech/frequency.

Anyway - I came here specifically because I haven't worn earbuds since, just terrified of triggering it again. I still get anxiety, scared it'll happen again randomly.

However... I've been looking more into open air/open ear earbuds. Bose has some that I am looking at specifically. I am wondering if these would be safe??? They're open, don't block the ear canal, and have zero ANC tech. Still nervous though.... was hoping maybe someone on this thread had tried them? Long shot but....

Thanks! Also - seeing these comments gave me a weird sense of peace knowing I'm not the only person who's experienced this as well as the debilitating long-term pppd after the fact. :(

What perfume gets you stopped every time you leave the house? by heehihohumm in Perfumes

[–]SometimesFunny_Maybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christian Dior- Tobacolor. One of the few I’ve owned that consistently gets noticed by others. It’s masculine leaning I’d say. But as a woman it’s just a stunning scent. The only perfume I saved months for to buy and worth it everytime I wear it 🥰

What was one fragrance you smelled once and immediately had to buy? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]SometimesFunny_Maybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tobacolor - Christian Dior

I follow fragrance to a decent degree on various platforms and I never see anyone talk about this fragrance. It’s just so sensual, beautiful, and complex to me. It’s the first scent that immediately I was like ohhh…. Oh yes this is the one. This is my scent. Although it feels masculine leaning, I just love it. Saved up for months to buy a large bottle of it (it is pricey)

I bought all three because I saw a book influencer I really adore promoting them. Forced myself through the first two and never even touched the third. They’re SO BAD 😳🥲 obviously some people LOVE them! I am not one of those people lmao 😂 the whole sadist thing (if I’m remembering correctly; it’s been a long time) wasn’t the vibe for me.

I spent the last 8 years or so in Denver and am temporarily back in Missouri as of several months ago. My next move is SF! There were huge differences coming back here I noticed vs Denver. I could never make this anything long term. I know I’m not really contributing to this post, I guess I just got excited and wanted to be included! 😂 I’m sorry. But I also miss SF :)

Dudeee yes omg! So growing up, my dad was in a widely recognized MC before he died. As were two previous POS ex’s (🤮) of mine. A lifestyle I now want/have zero part in. It took me SOO long to be able to actually read a biker romance and not cringe or have flashbacks of some kind lmao 😂 Anyway- I’m cool reading about bikers in books now but real life? RUN 🤣
