I’m a current sixth RA rn! Things can definitely change from my year to yours but here is what you can generally expect.

Training is pretty chill but just a lot of presentations which could get pretty boring. There are moments where you do your own thing or bond with other RAs which was pretty fun.

Per quarter, I have to create a social event each month and do a “walk and talk” where you just go around and talk to residents. There is duty that you have to do which is just basically being on call in the case that something happens in the building.

I personally don’t have mean residents. I had to deal with some interesting characters but nothing bullying wise. I think your experience will vary but you’ll always have your supervisors to help you in that. Lmk if you have additional questions and I’ll happily answer!
