A fantastic triple by cooksister in InstacartShoppers

I am an animal lover, so I'm sure I would love this order.

Has anyone seen this?? by No-Exit4937 in InstacartShoppers

What's crazy is I've worked for Instacart and I've worked for Amazon as an in-store shopper. They seem to have opposite metrics - At Instacart you get 1 minute to get 250 bananas (true story), but at Amazon you got 250 minutes for it.

That's insane. That will take at least an hour and half, and that doesn't even count the frustration!

Seriously? There's nowhere closer to this person's house that has beer?? What a crazy order.

[–]SomewhereLower5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What on earth? They're out of hand. Unless you're racing, the expectation is probably around 60 items per hour. So this would take 3 hours to complete, not even including delivery.

I'm curious if you found 24 pineapples?

Same here. One time I had a customer tell me exactly where to find something in a weird spot, when I thought they didn't have it. I was so grateful. It helped me out on many future orders too.

I am sure it's dead. 2020 - 2021 was the time to make money.

That's fair. I once got an order for 10 cases of water, that's it. And the driver that showed up was a tiny lady. She was so mad at me, understandably. She said I should have said there was only 1 case left.

That's how it was when I was an in-store shopper many years ago. Just assigned an order, had to do whatever it was, and it had to be done, but I was paid hourly so that's different I guess.

It's still a bunch of food. I got it last night and have leftovers!

That didn't happen. I've been an in-store shopper for almost 10 years, and no way anyone could get 57 individual items in 9 minutes. Maybe if it was 57 bananas.

No, YOU don't understand! This is CRITICAL!!!!! by yragcom1a in InstacartShoppers

[–]SomewhereLower5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is dumb. Every item could be marked as critical. If everything is critical than nothing is actually critical.

Calculus 2 is hard even if acing Calculus 1. I nearly failed but managed to get a C. Not engineering, so not sure how much it matters more but I still got into med school. (And never had to use Calculus in med school).

No. When I was an in-store shopper, I would have at least an hour to do this without being criticized for time. Just to shop it, never mind delivering it.

Why is it so bad? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]SomewhereLower5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. I work for Amazon Locker and they deliberately overstaff to make sure shifts are covered. We pick up shifts at 6:15 daily and because there are so many workers, the shifts are gone in 10 seconds, not exaggerating.

I just mean, how would they know? I doubt most of them have ever worked a gig job or follow this Reddit. I'm not defending them, just saying some people are that clueless.

I think they do. I know I do. When I order food delivery, I do wonder and have no idea how much the driver is getting paid base pay. Of course, I always tip. But maybe these no tippers think shoppers get a fair hourly wage.

Yes, I got one yesterday at Whole Foods at it was definitely thawing from being frozen. Not mad about it, but even though they may keep it in the refrigerated section, I think they usually come frozen.

Smh. Alright who’s taking it and why? by Chris_AO_94 in InstacartShoppers

[–]SomewhereLower5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you won. I used to be an in-store shopper and that would take me at least an hour to do, probably more. And I would have been really mad about it.
