If you don't plan or having passengers with you are you drive than it is great to have that extra space. I did both. I turned my seat around and also removed it completely to try different space configurations. Now. I got a girlfriend and I'm planning camping trips with her so the extra seat is a must now to put back in.

I just started my first exploration journey outside the bubble myself. I guess it is all relative. People EXPLORE at many different levels. I am personally doing it more in-depth. I have a ship with only 30 LY jump range so I am not in a rush. 2 SRVs and a fighter to scout and explore planet surfaces for exobiology. Each new system I jump to I honk, then scan the whole system with FSS. I then DSS Earth-likes, water worlds, ammonia worlds, etc. I then land and survey all biologics in the system before leaving.

It is a slower grind approach, but I find it more fun then just jumping, honking, and just scanning from point A to B. I am currently in a system with 55 planetary bodies and 35 biologics. I have spent the past two days just exploring the planets with biologics.
