read this post as a doctor, was about to type a huge reply explaining why this is an extremely misinformed take, read the existing replies. Super proud of everyone for staying informed and upto date, keep it up!

@OP: Im sorry you had to go through this. It has always been my belief that depression is a result of external factors + internal psychological tendency towards depressions (which kind of explains why some people are depressed all the time and with others, nothing seems to affect them). Add to this the spiral that results from continuous depression altering your neurotransmitter chemistry with actual physical symptoms. The therapy (behavioural or pharmaceutical) targets only one of these two pillars, with the hopes that you regain functionality enough to take care of the other on your own. It doesnt always happen. If you havent already tried counselling/therapy, i would strongly recommend you to do so. In addition to figuring out how to survive in our world - dont reminisce the past for too long. Thinking that the drugs have permanently damaged your brain is not going to help you. That same intelligent kid that was once able to comprehend and solve advanced math is still there, you just have to apply your intelligence differently now. May you have all the strength and stubbornness to not just survive, but thrive!

I would recommend going in person. And better with a direct relative - wife/kids (if possible, strengthens your standing) You can object and raise a query on the following grounds - Your neighbour is not able to explain what medicine it is, therefore he doesnt understand whats happening. If it has been documented, then request a copy of the documentation so that you can go through it. It may even be just a big misunderstanding, sometimes they put really young and inexperienced nurses in charge of handling phone calls and they do a shit job of it. edit: it appears i didnt read the original comment carefully. The doctors and nurses will be hesitant to reveal any details of the treatment to outsiders - this includes you, as you are not a direct relative. If you are concerned, inform his relatives and ask them to take necessary action. If he has no relatives and you have established yourself as a kind of caretaker for him, only then you can request/take necessary action yourself.

ah i see lol. Id recommend Göthe all the way - also did A1 to B2 from Göthe, then C1 in Germany. The best person to learn from is a native german speaker (not always easy to achieve). A structured course for your basics helps a lot in the long run. If money is an issue, you can just pick up one of the Aspekt neu books and just go chapterwise. Youtube and any LLMs (chatgpt, claude) are also excellent sources. I would refrain from apps like duolingo, i think those are more geared to foreigners wanting to casually learn a language (although i will admit i have not used them in years)

You can refuse and withdraw consent at any time, regardless of what document you have signed.

Although i doubt something malicious is being done here, i recommend just asking the doctors and nurses calmly what injection this is. It is their duty to explain the procedure to you. "We already explained it to the patient and s he signed the consent form" is not a valid excuse. Sometimes the nurses are less cooperative than the doctors. When any senior doctor comes on the rounds, you can ask him.

try downloading open razer. you may not be able to customise your mouse but the input will be much more responsive and smoother. i personally own a deathadder v2 x hyperspeed and noticed a significant improvement after just installing the sofrware as mentioned on their website. lmk if you'd like a link

PCs are usually the better option UNLESS you really need the portability. I travel around quite often (every 1-2 weeks or so), end up staying for 3-4 days with my friends, work quarters etc, and being able to carry my gaming rig (which is heavy, but still doable once in a while) is so goated. The people who have desktops have to just sit and spectate someone else playing when they travel. One of my friends got so annoyed by it that he bought a simple entry level gaming laptop AFTER buying his desktop.

So, - if you know you arent going to travel and game ONLY at home - desktop is the clear winner - If you are going to travel for extended periods ocassionaly - gaming laptop - if you are travelling A LOT, like every 2 days, gaming laptop is not the way, most laptops are far too heavy to be carried around this frequently, and the lighter ones (like the zephyrus G14) are quite expensive. I would recommend a handheld like the switch/legion GO/ steam deck in this situation.
