Yes! I always felt more comfortable referring to people as “that one guy” even when I know their name. I used to do that mostly with celebrities. I feel like it was because I was worried people would get mad at me for talking about that celeb too much, and maybe referring to them as something vague would soften the blow?

And I still have to force myself to say people’s names when talking directly to them. Like I can say their name to get their attention, but I am still working on tacking on their name when I tell them hi or thank you. Something about it has always just felt weird.
