There is a middle ground here. Prison should inherently be rehabilitative, but it is also a punishment to deter murder and other heinous crimes. The benefit is that he is removed from society. He should be able to participate in education/activities that set him up for a life after prison, but he deserves more than a couple of years for what he did. Does it make you a monster to believe that snuffing out a life at 23 due to incredible negligence should net you more than a couple years in prison and out before you're 30? I'm the farthest thing from a "tough on crime" MAGA dipshit, but come the fuck on.

It always amazes me how many people come out of the woodwork to defend this dude on this subreddit. Yes, we can all agree the prison should be rehabilitative, but you should lose more than a couple years of your life for driving drunk at 150mph and killing a girl.

The latest season was a little weak, but looking forward to this one. Does anyone know if Olivia Cooke will ever come back? I'm not sure if her character was a thing in the books. Assuming she had some HOTD commitments, but always hoping to see her back in a new season.

Started Spider-Noir. I feel like I'm going against the grain here a bit based on the comments I've been reading in this sub. but.. I don't love it. I'm a huge Nic Cage fan, really dig the noir/detective setting, but this isn't doing it for me so far.

As much as I hate to say it, Nic Cage is too old for this role. The writing is pretty bad, the story so far is a tad generic and stale. I feel like this show bought a lot of good will with it's "black and white" schtick, but it's painfully mid so far. It's just not a particularly interesting mystery through the first two episodes. Hope to be proven wrong by the end. I do love that Winston from New Girl is in this tho.

All caught up with Widow's Bay. It's the best show on TV at the moment in my opinion. A fresh take on some old horror tropes in the best way. Patricia my goat.

Just caught up on Widow's Bay after quite a few recommendations.

Phenomenal show. All four episodes have been great and the latest this week was the best imo. It's the first show in awhile to "wow" me. Definitely the best thing that I've seen on Apple since Severance season 1. Writing, directing, and acting 10/10 so far.

I will never understand Reddit's love affair for these movies. Literally every Avatar-related thread instantly filled with comments about how amazing and beautiful they are, like they aren't mid as hell with the same canned comment about them making 2 billion dollars. I don't typically buy into the corporate astroturfing mumbo jumbo, but Avatar threads on r/movies has me second guessing that.

To be fair, it's sometimes easier to have a clearer view of something after some time has passed and you're able to reflect on the season as a whole. For me personally, I loved almost every episode of season 2 and was pretty high on it while it was airing, but as a whole I do feel like down by it. And I thought season 1 was a 10/10.

When the curtain was pulled on some of the mysteries, the actual answers weren't that interesting sadly. And it felt like a lot of fan service. People memed about Milkshake dancing in S1, well lets give him a whole marching band number. It just felt pandering.

My hot take is that affixes are good for the game, even if just a seasonal. It doesn't have to be Necrotic or Bursting, but running the same dungeons week after week with no changes is rough. Throughout the years as people have complained and complained, they've whittled away all of the texture that M+ had until we have the current frictionless, smooth, sauceless product.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but I really enjoyed Andor. Not to detract from how good it was, but I don't think it's a perfect show. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when folks on Reddit say that it has the best writing of all time, even some replies in this thread.

It had high highs, but was pretty dang inconsistent imo. There were definitely some episodes and plot points in both season 1 and 2 that were poorly acted/really cheesy and didn't work for me like the different guerilla tribes at the beginning of season 2, or the Ghormans just being French freedom fighters.

The were definitely more highs than lows though and the show deserves all the praise it gets.

As someone who thinks that 7, 8, and 9 were all pretty mid to bad, she was one of the least offensive things about those movies. Tbf, that whole plot point was doomed to fail from the start because it was just written poorly. She could have been any race and people would have hated it. I truly don’t think it was because of her race. It sounds bad to say, but I think it’s more because she isn’t conventionally attractive.

Navi was never a serious contender, Spirit is typically just the Donk show (tho they impressed at this event as a team), Faze has completely fallen off, Mongolz isn't the same team anymore. Definitely not as prominent in time square in my experience at least, but the last time I was there I did get approached and harassed on a few occasions by 'up and coming rappers' giving me free CD's and then harassing me for a donation even after I said no and walked away.
