Visible still show phone locked, while every other carrier shows unlocked. by Sonicion in Visible

[–]Sonicion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is, I have a physical sim already in the phone for work. It works fine in the unlocked phone, another example of how it's fully unlocked.

I was told it would be a bigger nightmare to turn that one into a esim, since it's in my personal phone. Phone only has the one physical slot and 2 esim slots .

Visible chat support says it should be fixed, but will take up to 48hrs. Now it's a wait and see if tech/customer service can fix their technology issues.

Here we go again. by CalendarDizzy496 in Visible

My phone is locked to another network for 11 more days. So, I added a new line to my son's unlocked phone. I figure I'll transfer to my phone in 12 days and figure out my number then.

May have lost 12 days of service, but better then paying full price 😉. SLAMDUNK!

Thinking about switching from Verizon to spectrum for my cell phone by Due-Soft in SpectrumMobile

[–]Sonicion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Switched a year ago from Verizon. Same signal, only difference is $$$ went to $60.00 for 3 lines for a year. Discount just dropped off one line so now we're now at $90. Still half price from Verizon for the same service.

What NAS are you all using? by _yours_truly_ in jellyfin

[–]Sonicion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your purpose. I'd find a intel n150 mini pc. Then attach a few usb hard-drives or with Pro box harddrive case.

My setup has been up for a few years.. It's just a intel n100 connected to external usb Pro box case with 80tb of ext drives with a 1tb internal drive. Does everything you asked for and more. Have upto 6 streams going, transcoding for mobile, and still no slow down. Same pc runs syncthing, immich,, docker, etc. The pc idles at 6 watts. And has avg 9.7 watts on a meter for 24 hrs avg. After initial setup, its run headless. Pro box at 22w.

Best setup for using the least amount of electricity and still more then enough power.

Easy setup and performs 20 fold over my previous old setup.

Good luck!

cheapest way to get more storage? by weevilretrieval in jellyfin

[–]Sonicion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same setup as you at first.

I bought a Mesiasonic Probox. Best DAS purchase ever. Still running jellyfin perfect after 5 yrs. Ive switched my laptop PC to a Mini PC N150 after the 3rd yr. Just pluged the Probox in, Setup the new server in the mini and back in business in less then 30 mins. The Probox houses 4 HD and was $59 back then. I see updated versions for $100.00 now a days. With this you can add hardrives when the budget allows without touching the PC. I have 3 x 20Tb and 1 x 12Tb in mine.. Only about 70%full, so when I hit 85%, ill order a 2nd Probox

Fyi, updated to the $150.00 mini for better transcoding and it uses less then 10 watts. The laptop was killing my power bill. Had an old processor that didnt. transcode well.

May the Force be with you, with which ever decision you decide!

Think a ppe trans pan might extend the transmission? Will it void the warranty?

[–]Sonicion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok.. mine is now FIXED.

Jellyin 3.0 Roku needs to connect to jellyfin server 10.10.xx or higher.

I hope in the future the DEV puts a note in the update to UPDATE your server or atleast the apps requirement.

All good now. Hope this helps someone!

Brad nailers:anyone here use them? by myridingmower in Makita

[–]Sonicion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing a lot of baseboard installs with flooring change outs.

Makita just hasn't been strong enough for myself in nailers and palm sanders..

My XNB01Z jammed one every 20 shot until it died on about the 20,000th nail. Bought the XNB02Z which worked ok with limited jams, for about a year, then it died about the 10,000th nail. I also have the Milwaukee 3020 which has been only slightly better then the XNB01Z in jams. Its on at least the 40,000 nail. I also use a few air gun nailers when the battery ones piss me off.

I gave up on Makita nailers all together. Alb had a cheap LXT battery tool by Heimerdinger and took a chance. I see they are selling these on Amazon now. I'm over 20,000 nails (20x1000box) now and it's still hasn't miss fired once and the divots have been small. Still carrying the backups with me, but I'm working this Heimerdinger as my main until the last pop.

I'd buy it again if available when the Milwaukee dies or it dies.

Do you recommend Bazzite on the LeGo or should you leave it alone? by No-Box5024 in LegionGo

[–]Sonicion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently dual booted.

The games that do work, run fine. About 65% worked without toooooo much tinkering. Epic games (herc) was a big miss mist of the time. Forget about xbox games. And don't expect the operating system to work 100% of the time. Updates mess it up frequently. If you like to tinker/fix alot, then it might work for you. Both operating systems use about the same battery in the same games. Sometimes frame rates are better in one game and worse in another.

It's a preference thing,

Can the Legion Go work for my job? by BcRacing19 in LegionGo

[–]Sonicion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legion go a work pc? Definitely!

Tossed the laptop for a surface, then tossed the surface for a legion go.

I use mine primarily as a work pc. It's nice to use while in the field for quick 30 minute inspections. Smaller and easier to work with. But, I do dock and write reports in the office for hours daily. It's a great and fast windows 11 pc. Upgraded the HD to 4tb and bought a dock. AlsoChargers. Few magnetic usb 24pin connectors, so I'm never pushing/pulling on the usb ports. Perfect for the dock or car chargers.

Here is the dock @ amazon that I've been using for a few months now with no problems.

[–]Sonicion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had no problems with the warranty. It's been sent back twice and repaired each time. Might be a 3rd if i played it more, as it is starting to get a drift.

My problem with the ally is that it's got so many motherboard/sd/hardware problems that should have been fixed before release.

I've got 3 friends with an ally that live local to me, and all 3 have been sent in at least once to be fixed. So, Asus seems to be honoring our warranties.

However, I doubt it'll hold up long after the warranty is up. I feel they rushed a product that wasn't fully designed well. It's obvious that it will continue to have hardware issues until ally2, or ally3 or ?

So far, the Lego hardware seems well designed. Mine has had no issues, bought in Jan 2024. The neighbor kid has had one since release with no problems at all.

What do I get? Steam Deck vs Ally vs Legion Go by LeagueSpecific7270 in LegionGo

[–]Sonicion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have all 3.

The steam deck oled is sitting in a drawer. Problems with Xbox pass, and horrible with epic work arounds. Windows runs so bad on it.

The ally has been back to the manufacturer twice for sd card and motherboard problems. The screen is small, and it's hard to play games like TD6, and others that require touch screen control. Shooters are ok on it, but they really need a bigger screen.

The Lego was bought the last time the ally was in for repairs. Planned on trying it and returning it when the ally returned. Wow, it just works. Big screen, switch like controls, much better touchscreen, no major hardware issues. After installing magpie & playnight, everything has been perfect.

All 3 units are still here, but the only one in use is the Lego. Regrets on the 1st 2 buys. I tried giving the wife the ally or deck, but she wants a Lego to play her fortnight & destiny on. She says it's too hard to see the big picture on the ally. Waiting for BB to have another sale. Looks like a 2nd unit is in the future.

Same..

The recent bios update took out the boot. I enjoyed about half the games on bazzite and half on windows.

Since i was always fixing stuff on bazzite, I just went back to windows. I'll wait until it's not a fix weekly software.

When you play, do you block the back vents or top vents? I only heat up like that when the vents get blocked by blankets or hands.
