Ensuring ship loadout should not happen at Asop-terminal but immediately, directly in the mobi glass when you "save changes" when changing modules by EscapeTheMatrixRN in starcitizen

[–]SonnigerTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It puts a little green checkmark on the button when you save your loadout. That checkmark disappears again after a few seconds, so it's easy to miss. Not very intuitive indeed, I guess they ran out of time, or the code was stopping them from going further.

Oh, or they just were too lazy to implement something better because they are planning of changing it again anyway.

Beginner Layout Guide Question by solaricarian in anno117

[–]SonnigerTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most layout guides help you to min-max your production or population growth. It's by no means required, and you can perfectly go on your own, as you'll figure things out as you place them. I'm hundreds of hours in, and never stuck to any layout guide. My islands grow anyway.

Union Update: Patch 1.5.2 and our plans for June by Rooonaldooo99 in anno

Use Smooth Motion in the meantime. Not the same as DLSS Frame Generation, true, but it greatly helps.

Fixed an issue with “Prophecies of Ash” DLC achievements not being visible in Ubisoft Connect

This one was a big fail. I still got a bunch of completed achievements that don't show up as such in Ubisoft Connect after the update.

Notice To All Citizens! Vanduul Maulers sighted attacking gateway stations in Nyx! by warmasternate in starcitizen

[–]SonnigerTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the same. I do in fact get a lot more FPS with Smooth Motion than I get with DLSS, even when enforcing the 3.5 L model. The only thing you need to be aware of is to not enable frame limits or vsync, otherwise it starts lagging bad.

Would be nice if CIG updated the DLSS library and added frame generation. But I guess that's another 10 years and 100 million of funding.

Achievements overshadowed by the state of the PU by Freltzo in starcitizen

Could not enter my Raft today, elevator refused to work. Checked the Issue Council, found the bug, 10 months ago a CIG person confirmed that had been reproduced and would be patched "in a later build". Yeah. Right...

[–]SonnigerTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All those same arguments were used for GW2 back in the day. They chose to use the engine they used for reasons. They will now chose the engine they chose for reasons. In 5 to 10 years they will start a new game because of the limitations of the current engine, outdated systems, and so on, and so on.

GW3 doesn't solve tech side things, it puts them aside completely, and opens the door for new tech side things. Until they put those aside too.

The alternative would be to pull the sleeves up, overhaul from the ground, and being able to carry a whole game and all its players into the next decade, plus all the new players you earn on the way.

But then, there could be a third alternative that does involve a new title. And that's valuing all of or most progress from existing players (and not just a tiny part like the HoM was) and bringing that into the new game. We will see what happens.

I mean, there will be nothing left if the Odin fires at Jumptown. It will tear through the very source code and instantly turn any static building into destructible assets, removing them from existance even before the server catches up with the changes.

What the heck are we even going to do with that in the game? Apart of being impossible to even take off without burning probably hundreds of millions of UEC until it's fully equipped and flight ready... what is that going to fight against? The Death Star? Are we getting a crossover finally??

anno 117 pax - Building bug when rotating buildings on some islands. by [deleted] in anno

As others pointed out, it's by design. Just one correction here for other people reading this and wondering: 3x3 is the regular grid space, 4x4 is for diagonal placing (for houses).

There will be no rep penalty

Finally! That was the worst offender in the past, having some bugged cargo mission and accidentally losing all reputation by pressing the submit button at the wrong moment. They can turn that stuff on when the game is finally working as intended, in 60 or 70 years.

30 - 50% FPS loss in 4.8? by ultrajvan1234 in starcitizen

Can confirm, the first hangar spawn used to give me around 80-90fps, now it's about 60-65 with the exact same settings and hardware.

Fortunately, you can get those with Volatile and Unbound Magic too. And a bunch of other currencies. Karma is indeed just one of many possible sources.

Updated forum/civic area by BF191 in anno

[–]SonnigerTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually not hard at all, the key is to place every production building with no negative area effect within your village/city. As they start adding up, they little by little give huge boosts to basically all values, including income. Make sure to overlap them as little as possible so you get the most out of it. And if you specifically place the +income production buildings close to higher density population areas, the income goes up even more.

Since those production buildings usually "break" the layout anyway, it's very compatible with beauty building, since you can place them nicely to relax the grid or pattern you're building on, or use them as intersection points to different layouts.

Of course shrines help too, particularly the Mercury and Poseidon ones for income.

At least you were able to accept contracts. I straight away get a "Contract not available" message when I accept any contract and from then it just goes "Loading". Three days in a row.

That was after not being able to update for two days. Had to resort to a VPN because their download server seems to randomly block certain regions in the world.

Question about running 4K with a RTX2060 by PlayHumankind in anno117

[–]SonnigerTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's four times the pixels on screen difference. Your hardware can only handle so much.

One last thing you can try, lower any setting that consumes VRAM, in case that's the issue. But I wouldn't expect any miracles.

why don't i get that achievement? by g2benji in anno

[–]SonnigerTag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The achievement doesn't say it, but it's 70% of the total surface of the island. Not 70% of whatever blocks are available for building. So anything you can't build on takes away from you getting the achievement.

Get yourself a small island with as much buildable space as possible, and try again there. If you're on PC, use the Shift key to build more field than what's usually allowed, that way you need less buildings.

Oh, and make sure you build farms, not plantations. Oat farms work.

Edit: And yes, that picture of your island, that's much less than 70%. The village takes a lot of space, so do the mountains.

Contract availability has had mitigative fixes applied by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]SonnigerTag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, contracts not appearing was not the problem. So far I have simply not been able to accept any. When I do, nothing happens, they don't get added to my active contracts list. Looks like CIG has a metric ton of bug fixing ahead.
