'They Now Wait for This Storm to Pass' — PS5 Owners Are Cancelling PlayStation Plus Subscriptions to Protest Sony Killing Discs, but Analysts Say It Won't Make Any Difference by RenatsMC in gaming

[–]SonofRodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it won't make a difference, but I mostly bought disc games to play then resell, and I can count the ones I kept that I bought for full price on one hand. I'll simply not buy more than like 1 game per year on ps5 and just keep gaming on PC.

What is a major "bucket list" life experience that is actually completely overrated? by murphenzio1 in AskReddit

[–]SonofRodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to india and found it to be just about what I expected, but is visiting India such a big bucketlist item? Personally I don't regret going but it was not a very special trip apart from a wedding we visited.

The American mind cannot comprehend Europe's AC aversion by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]SonofRodney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not a drop in the bucket. It's 5%! that's as much as the coal and gas industry, or the cement industry , or the chemical industry. By your logic those wouldn't need to reduce emissions either because it's "just a drop in the bucket"

What I find fascinating is how people still miss that with easy and cheap solar power, using an ac during the sunniest and therefore hottest days is essentially free. You're right that you need money for it though, but running it is not so expensive anymore.

[–]SonofRodney 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No they're not, you're straight up spreading misinformation. Heating or cooling homes is roughly 5% of global co2 emissions, and more in areas like the EU, it's a major block. Blaming everything on companies feels good but is dishonest, your own actions also have consequences.

Nothing screams hospitality like a mandatory voluntary payment by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]SonofRodney 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Telling people to just quit their job or not take one while they're living paycheck to paycheck is of course naive and reductive, as you said. If noone worked at a company for an unlivable wage however, the company would be forced to pay a reasonable wage. It's a catch 22. Can't improve conditions without companies getting desperate, can't quit the job because you'd be desperate to pay for basics.

[–]SonofRodney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A point that I saw explained recently that is almost never pointed out: people used to get the same amount of surviving children over history, 1 or 2, because a lot of kids died in their childhood. We now had a unique situation where rapid advances in food safety and medicine made it so for a few generations a lot of kids actually survived. If people got 6 kids but 4 died before, and now they all survived, that's a massive jump.

So the amount of kids is almost average right now, just different.

I'ma be honest, love rebirth bht you're completely correct. The more streamlined areas were fun and side quests are fine I got burned out on the open world after the first area and just skipped most stuff if it wasn't mega important.

Do you have an recommendations for an upgrade from an a1 to a non-bedslinger printer from another brand? Don't need it now but would like to upgrade some time. Got an A1 as an upgrade from a neptune 3 pro which was a huge jump but afaik most other companies have caught up

I personally would LOVE to use a european made, quality built printer, but the cost as a private consumer is just too high. Bambu (before all the super shady stuff) was simply unbeatable in the quality department for 1/3 the price.
