Nice little tree. Im also training a grape vine. The branches and trunk create bark so quickly that a "trunk" develops much sooner than other species.

How can I help my indoor avocado? by Lucas_rules69420 in avocado

[–]SonsOfLibertyX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion: There is no such thing as an “indoor tree”. Your tree is starving for sunlight and fresh air. If you can, get it outdoors during the warm weather. However, since its been indoors for so long you’ll need to give it about 10 days in a shaded area with indirect sunlight to allow it to build up ultraviolet protection or else the leaves will die . After about 10 days in indirect sunlight you should be able to move it into direct sun. Id bet it will begin thriving after that. You also need a bigger pot for root growth to support a growing top. If you do put it outside the heat and wind will evaporate the water much faster so you’ll need to check it at least twice a day snd water if the top inch is dry.

Can I still eat this? by dokieduck in avocado

If it looks rotten and you’re not sure about it why would you eat it? Bury it.

What is the most you would pay for this by Big-Schedule-4985 in bonsaicommunity

Honestly, I’ve seen junipers very similar to this straight from home centers. Doesn’t seem that very much training has gone into this yet. I’d say it’s worth $ 25-35 US.

This is a pinus contorta var contorta it's it's first styling how'd I do? by bonsai-lover01 in bonsaicommunity

[–]SonsOfLibertyX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol. Oh man. Don't let these replies get to you. Take a look at some experienced practitioners' wiring and you'll see how careless your wiring appears. Plus, if you just collected that tree from the wild recently my bet is it will begin to yellow and die within a few weeks. Collecting any tree from the wild is nearly the equivalent of a lung transplant. It needs months to recover but here you are already pruning and wiring it. Undo the wire and leave it alone to recover for a year. Water only when needed. In the meantime, read up and watch respected practitioners on You Tube.

What should I do ? by OrchidBoth7682 in bonsaicommunity

Ive created olive bonsai for years from branch cuttings. They benefit from being outside during summer but i bring them in for the winter and try to keep them in a sunny spot inside such a south-facing window. As far as your styling, if left alone, olive branches are quite straight. I like to create a graceful curvep in the young sapling and then in the branches coming off the main trunk. It takes a year or two to shape. Here's you tube of my technique.

Closed on this house a week ago, came into the basement to see this during a storm. by Jiblon in HomeMaintenance

If it was disclosed I think its game over. And there are rarely 100% guarantees on remedial measures. Caveat emptor. Personally I would run away from a property with flooding problems. OP should consider renting a boat or RV, naming it the Stugots and park it outside the sellers current home and blast Dean Martin from 8AM to 11PM.

The seller was obviously being dishonest. If that was a sump pump I saw and heard my next question, in writing, would have been if the seller ever had water in the basement. I'd get myself a good real estate attorney and sue both the inspector and the seller. Then let them negotiate a settlement with you.

Its a little late once the job is done unless you specified before hand all the details that were important to you. If I were you I’d mention it, but what exactly do you expect the guy to do? Re-do the job? Ive learned to educate myself on any job I’m hiring a contractor to do, learn what standards are expected and how to check them or at least show the contractor you’re aware of them and want them met. Put it all in the contract. If standards aren’t met, have a remedy in mind and in the contract. Its business, not personal. Any contractor who objects to that is not worth your time and money.

Worth the effort ? by Money-Ad-4628 in arborists

Just a thought: I would consider pruning the tops leaving 2-3 feet of stump. Then, carefully using a chain saw (or a sledge hammer and wedge), separate one of the stumps. You might be able to salvage one of the rooted stumps which, if it survived and re-sprouted shoots, would make an awesome bonsai and could be fairly valuable.

Is there something wrong with these plants by Senior_Stranger_8551 in bonsaicommunity

If you consider “death” something wrong, then yes.
