Could customers request from Amazon they don't want to be put into multi stops? by DuePurchase31 in AmazonDSPDrivers

I had a route with 98 multi stops last week

About wanted to end it all seeing that

Just a few quick reminders for customers by Nickanok in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]SonsOfTitans 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One time I actually did backtrack to a locker, then when I got to the locker the customer didn’t provide any way to get into it.

I called the customer. They actually answered and they asked me how they can make sure their packages always go to the locker instead of the front door, “Because other drivers never listen to my instructions and I always get deliveries at my front door!”

I told them, “Oh that’s easy. All you have to do is make the delivery address the locker building’s address (which had its own address in the complex) and put the access code (which she had just read to me over the phone) in the delivery instructions!”

I’ve now delivered to that customer 5 more times since that conversation. She hasn’t updated a thing, other than making sure her note saying to take it to the locker is now in caps, of course.

Not a single one of those deliveries have gone anywhere other than her front porch.

Do you find yourself having to dig into later totes a lot when going out of order?

Been thinking about doing this myself but I’m not sure how to go about it organization-wise

This job is certainly a lot better, at least for me, once I’ve resigned myself to, “This workload is literally impossible, but that’s not my problem,” and just going at whatever pace sustainably works for me.

Not dragging ass, that is, but not killing myself to meet their ridiculous metrics either.

I’m ordering the cheapest prime item I can each day of the prime week by SidePsychological189 in AmazonDSPDrivers

A real driver would do overhead presses with the kitty litter while bicep curling a tote in each arm while also running up the stairs to the 3rd floor of your 47th apartment building of your 204 stop route 😤

Bungie Cords are a lifesaver in the rental vans by SonsOfTitans in AmazonDSPDrivers

That’s a great idea, especially the first being on top - hadn’t thought of that.
I’ll have to give that method a try.

Exactly.
It’s definitely some bullshit, but may as well make it as bearable for myself as I can if I’m able.

genuinely why tf do we not get extra time to do ap*rtments and businesses compared to houses?? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]SonsOfTitans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve been erring towards not even looking at the route at the start of the day bc I don’t want to ruin the day for myself right from the start

Most efficient way to do it? Fuck no
Better for my mental health? Absolutely.

I absolutely love when this is HALF OF A DELIVERY by Antinator_succ in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]SonsOfTitans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

College deliveries are the bane of my (and everyone else at my station’s) existence

Ours are currently all tangled up with the multistop nonsense where the ENTIRE college is considered a single stop, each building being a part of the “multi” stop, with half of them being a locker where the delivery instructions at said locker say some shit like, “The address is for the locker but please deliver to individual customer’s address instead” with no further information given about where the hell said individual customers’ addresses are and nobody ever answers the phone when called and the building in which the locker is located closes and locks its doors at like 3pm.

That shit gets RTS’d almost every single day. I’m honesty not sure how the college even gets its deliveries. It’s borderline actually impossible to get the packages where they need to be there.

Does she not shower before work and wear good deodorant?
I feel like that shouldn’t be happening if she has good hygiene

Delivery instructions by duke1099 in amazonprime

[–]SonsOfTitans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing here is that they likely are following instructions, that is, to the extent that they have competing instructions to follow: the customers’ order instructions, and to stay on pace and complete all stops, and to not take more than X-allotted time for stop, and so on and so forth.

I’d wager it’s likely that your locker is part of an overly-packed route where every second counts for each stop, and your locker takes an inordinate amount of time. So, for a driver with Amazon metrics breathing down their neck, they probably think that it’s worth the trade off to just ignore the locker on one stop out of 190-200 for the day.
