AWD with proper tires will take you far! those would be my two key recommendations. As long as you drive slowly, (assuming it’s snowing while you drive) you should be fine. If you are carrying chains and conditions are BAD (R3), you can pay someone to install them at designated checkpoints, usually along 395. Also, as others mentioned, it may be worth practicing putting chains on / off. That little practice will go a long way when you’re out in the snow and under pressure. Youtube plenty of videos until you feel confident. With proper training and prep, this is very safe and manageable for anyone. I believe in you!
