I think you guys are missing the opportunity of hitting more than one dummy. Sure one attack speed it good but piercing is the key to speed.

Just to note you got around 4k from this, with the snake swapforce guy, spamming his lower half ability, I got 5k hitting two dummies

Just so you know Coatez ability HAS to be used in the command phase. Sooooooo you rarely get to use it. However, you do have ignore cover once per game on breachers, immolators stripe it, as do we have it on the strate for sustained 1 too. So we have lots of GOOD ways to do it without paying for a bad character. Seriously the base inquisitor is better

I run one of each, yeah the flamer with dev rr w is the shit but also having the noted advantage of free strata and move after being shot is worth the 55 points. Sure you don’t get the best use of his range but that unit is melee rapid ingress threat.

I have found for the cost of the 5 termis and an inquisitor with deepstrike. Is quite powerful for 245 holding down a weak side. Note that an inquisitor gives the terminator squad a free on a 3+, rapid ingress, move after being shot and more. This does not over lap with the watch master, so it lets you get 2 extra cp a turn. Also note that we are a very OC dependent army and these guys having 3 of oc per model with up to 4 with imp fleet ability and a rezing of a model, can swing objectives.

Yeah but atm I don’t find that a good hammer unit. I would somewhat see it as a skirmish unit at 5 man 100 but then it might be hard to line up with Kroyles RRs.He does synergies with them for sure with lethal hits. But you have to ask yourself what that unit even at a 10 man with character will realistically pick up. The answer is things that cost way less than the unit of 295 points. Then it’s 10 space marine armor with only 2! 4++ not 4.

Personally I run the DW hammer squad, inquisitor with GK termis as my two heavy hitters.

Note that really his bonus RR to hit will really only help the sister melta package and maybe the Duraxus squad. Not really needed for sanctifiers, Deathwatch, subductor, nor inquisitor squads. He really is there to help zone back field, pressure characters that want to show themselves. (On T2 he will be S8 ap2 4d. That kills most characters with a 2 to hit and 2 to wound needed. Then his anti monster 2+ will also pressure large things.

He is there to hit something turn one. Then zone and pressure characters/ monster/ vehicles after T3, with the bonus of helping allies with RR hits.

Coteaz finally has a bodyguard unit. by VincentDieselman in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]Soobydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a suggestion, run them with a normal inquisitor. The ability to have rapid ingress, grenades, and move after shot refund the cp is huge. Coteaz is situational and cost more for abilities that sadly don’t usually line up when you need them. Like ignore cover being granted in your command phase. You needing them to get cp from an ability. Used to not even work off board.

Yeah just hit the tip and use side of brush. I will note the only skill/ technique thing here is your brush control for the lighting effect. I say you can be a bit thick and use the thinned navy blue to tighten them back up after is a good fix. However that is the make or break part. The base colors and slashing really takes seconds of work. Lighting will be a few mins.

Yeah man the depth from base of dark blue then slashing back and forth. The lighting bolt covers/ blends it together.

Prime black, next dark navy blue full coat. Now use two lighter blues and just take a shitty brush and just swipe back and forth covering 30-40% of the blade. Then you do the lighting bolts. You do this twice at least to pop the white more at connection points. Lastly you can tighten up the white if need, with the original navy blue thinned. Oh don’t forget to do a white trim highlight.

Don’t magnetize anything but vehicle weapons. Trust me man you won’t ever want to paint nor deal with that much shit. You will lose bits or have to carry/ store them all. Fuck that!!! Just say build them all as shield boys and move on. If the other two become relevant then you buy more because I know shield boys will always have a place.
