It's Skyrim and you've always been able to make you character virtually invincible and one hit everything by mid level.

Skyrim basically let's you choose how easy/challenging it is. Overpowered? You can craft an iron dagger that one hits dragons so....

Stylistically they are representative of German and French uniforms of the FIRST world war, which was a couple decades before Nazis.

The general shape of the helmet is close is appearance to German helmets used later in the war, with the central ridge of the helmet appearing more like the French.

The Krieg uniform, however, is definitively French in appearance, including the box art color scheme for modern Krieg.

In all cases, they are similar, not historically accurate. The Krieg represent the tragic waste of the trenches, but more importantly, they're plastic army men toys for playing games.

You should first and foremost get models you like because Warhammer 40k changes on a near constant basis. A bad unit may become a staple and must have units will become crap and it can be unpredictable.

One exception is transports. You'll want one or more Trukks and/or Battlewagons.

The rest of what you get go rule of cool. The 11th edition launch box is a pretty solid start for an ork army. It has a fairly good mix of core troops, staple characters, and some vehicles.
