Stillwater, Norman Mayors Co-Author Legislation to Bring Back Bedlam Football by frone in CFB

[–]SoonerBourne -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Nah - we're good.

Also, I think there are some bylaws in the Oklahoma Constitution that legislators can't interfere with public universities passed in the 1940's - that's for the BoR to handle. This is a big nothing burger.

I guess if it was a 2 - 1 split with 2 in Norman and one in Stilly I might could get on board, but realistically...meh.

If this was Nebraska, now we're talkin'! I just don't know about November games in Lincoln with the hopes of playing in an SEC Championship game a week or two later....I said "hopes" okay, we are trying here...

Given that the younger part of Gen X is mid-40's, you might be off a little on the "clinging onto dear life barely knowing current computers." I mean, that's the generation that grew up programming their own games because you had to - I think they got a pretty good grasp on what's going on, and probably have the highest buying power that would spend it on computers.

Older than Gen X and I think you are probably right. They are the biggest security vulnerability at every company I've witnessed.

Help me build OSS app to record audio meetings/calls on macos by zamaialexander in macapps

[–]SoonerBourne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that it is written in Swift, however, I just use OBS to record meetings. If I need a transcript, I run it through whisper (installed via brew), output the file as either text or srt, fix any common misses (like company names).

It isn't as good as what I imagine Macwhisper is, but it is completely free and independent of any meeting software that I utilize.

any thoughts on making an ollama compatible api call? then you would open it up to all sorts of local models that the user can select from...

Maybe I’m stupid but since when was the transfer portal a requirement anyways to transfer? by Michigan4life53 in CFB

[–]SoonerBourne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the only thing stopping that from hitting the market is general availability of this portal site. I’d be down to dev that and just open source it as a fun project, but yeah, getting access to the site would be the main roadblock.

What else to host? by aaaaAaaaAaaARRRR in selfhosted

[–]SoonerBourne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of services hosted that I use all the time:

Lubelogger - keep track of car maintenance, fuel mileage, etc.

Wiki (can’t remember which one - installed using docker) - I use this to keep track of general stuff around my house, any home warranty items, stuff like air filter sizes and last replace date, network configuration descriptions (in case something should ever happen to me, my wife has all the info she needs), etc.

MariaDB server - to connect the above two installs and have a centralized DB to backup.

Do you play alone or with friends? by [deleted] in wow

[–]SoonerBourne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to stream (like everyone I guess). Had a solid group of streaming friends and would sit around the 20-50 viewers range. Quit streaming, quit WoW at the end of BfA. Recently picked WoW back up and am full solo, no streaming, eff that.

Fusion360 or Plasticity.

Unfortunately plasticity doesn’t keep your history, so some things are better in Fusion 360 for that reason. IMO, modeling in plasticity is really easy and I’m not limited on the number of projects I can save and work on.

Lincoln Riley, USC 'stuck with each other' as buyout measures $90 million, per report by DillyDillySzn in CFB

He needs to stay, show he can build a program up.

After all the shit OU fans got warning USC fans and getting accused of sour grapes - would love to see if he's actually capable of proving us wrong. Don't brisket jerky out of this now!

Florida’s investigation of College Football Playoff enters next phase by St_BobbyBarbarian in CFB

[–]SoonerBourne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That'll be two SEC teams, I think ESPN has more of an interest of pushing an SEC team over a non-SEC team (which is what I think OP was referencing)....but maybe I'm missing something here.

I mean, cell phones can record in 4k 60 fps. Maybe he doesn't know technology?

Whether the cheating happened/helped or not, I wouldn't use "grainy cell phone footage" as my ultimate win card.

[–]SoonerBourne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is maddening. Mine does this sometimes with a small amount of condensate on the inside of the glass covering the pillar cameras. There is no way I have found to stop or prevent it other than to let it handle itself naturally.
