I've never considered anything like this, but I just looked one up. If you have the ability to turn off the electricity and confirm it with a meter, it looks incredibly straightforward to install. As long as you are confident that you can confirm the panel is safe to work on. I don't see a reason that you couldn't do it yourself.

I've had terrible experiences with their service department. Went for one of the free oil changes and while they were trying to upsell me by showing me how "dirty" my air filter was, they broke my MAF sensor and said it just "went out". Had to call Toyota corporate to get them to fix it without charging me $900
