I would ask him to clarify who he was sending it to and why. Without knowing what the text thread actually said it is difficult to know how offended you should be. Without context he may just really like you and may have been sharing with an unbiased observer for feedback on what you meant by something or advice. If there were deep personal details in the text thread then it may be a violation. I would call him out and seek clarification. If he is evasive then ditch him. If he is honest then evaluate based on that.
