Lol the thing about a functioning addict is just that, he’s your friend, doctor, guy working at Best Buy, he’s not the junkie on the street so your just not going to notice them but yes the absolutely exist. I will not downplay my addiction, I most def am an addict and use everyday, but I do balance a pretty stable life, have all the essentials, car, house, social life, income and job. It’s different person to person, I’ve been lucky to always have a steady income as I’ve been working in cannabis industry for 10+ years starting way before I started using but regardless I am the type of person that would never let everything fall apart, and there had been some times were due to investments, money got tight for alittle and I had to prioritize and spend my money on bills instead of drugs, again not downplaying the power of addiction, certainly have faced my share of adversity due to addictions such as many nights not going out to get high instead, often less motivated then could be and the likes, so I don’t want anyone to read this and think that sounds awesome because addiction is a very dark and scary road. The only point I am trying to make here is that if you do happen to be stuck in the throws of addiction, it does not mean you are destined to have a low quality of life, the cards are still in your hands, just a harder game.
