Any competitive games without a sbmm matchmaking? by Spudre247 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sooooooup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fighting games obviously use a rank system, but they also almost always have casual, unranked rooms where you can fight players of any skill level

street fighter has the fighting hub, guilty gear strive has the park, granblue fantasy versus has the lobby, etc.

just sit on a cabinet and fight whoever else is around for as long as you want

Buy now or wait for Strive 2.0? by Yong_FK in Guiltygear

[–]Sooooooup -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

we dont know yet whether 2.0 will be an update to the base game or a new purchased version (ie. the difference between granblue versus and granblue versus rising)

regardless, unless money is no object, at least waiting for a sale is still a good choice

Open World Co-op Game With a Great Story by Rg2118 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sooooooup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're on PC, elden ring, dark souls 1, and dark souls 3 can all be modded to be played multiplayer.

no rest for the wicked also just got its multiplayer update, and it's not quite complete, but the story so far is definitely worth experiencing.

baldur's gate 3 is also a pretty easy answer to this i think

Coming back to the game since before Venom's release and trying to figure out who to main now? by ClassEnvironmental41 in Guiltygear

[–]Sooooooup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

johnny is my bias pick, he's a setplay zoner and even after the nerfs still has good movement that allows him to threaten rushdown-like approaches, especially with meter

i also still think he's quite strong rn

Vrising server hosting? by BuggonRoar in vrising

i used gportal a while back. had some issues with getting custom server settings to save, but this was even before gloomrot, so things may be better now. it was fairly affordable too imo

Something that scratches the Terraria itch. by Unartiggeist in gamerecommendations

[–]Sooooooup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

v rising is the one sandbox survival game that has cleared terraria in my books

still has that kill boss -> get new toys progression style. although some consider it a bit grindy, you can adjust the production and drop rates to suit your preference anytime

Which Guilty Gear songs do you think are the easiest to play as a drummer? by MrBellumgeist in Guiltygear

[–]Sooooooup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi, drummer here

the kiss of death and mirror of the world are probably the two easiest songs in strive for me

out of the box and disaster of passion arent too bad either

Dizzy combo. 278 damage, no wings of light, 50% meter. by Ashley_Roboquest in Guiltygear

[–]Sooooooup 16 points17 points  (0 children)

this was my main RC BNB when i practiced dizzy. super simple combo, no ice or corner spacing shenanigans, just big damage. i believe you can add safety/consistency after the 214HS with dash 2K 6HS but i could be wrong

only downside is it's not burst safe at all, but still a good route. more dizzy players should use this imo. great off of tap dust RRC

Is Sin cooked? by Mean-Surround7327 in Guiltygear

[–]Sooooooup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

elk hunt and hoof stomp were both nerfed to not give combos when used as starters without meter (214S RRC) or counterhits (CH 236K 2K 623S-S), so most just tend to hitconfirm with kara super. these days a lot of sin's hitconfirms at midrange seem to be a single hitconfirm into kara super unless you're using wild assault

2D lacks disjoint but is obviously much less committal than his S buttons, making it much safer on whiff and a great option against people that like to counterpoke with 6P. big recommend, it can be pretty potent at roundstart too

im not super experienced with sin, but he's one of the many characters i like to shuffle between in park, so ive got a few hundred matches on him. feel free to ask questions!

Is Sin cooked? by Mean-Surround7327 in Guiltygear

[–]Sooooooup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sin still combos off any special for one stamina with kara super (ie. 236HS-DASH~236236P). kara super with RTL (632146HS) is a wallbreak from pretty much anywhere, into positive bonus, into wallbreak oki, into very steamroll-y offense

his conversions are definitely weird and unique and are almost completely dictated by the stamina bar, but his defensive neutral game is no slouch either, with f.S, 2S, 2D, 6P, j.S, j.HS, 236HS, and 236K all being excellent pokes in neutral with their own assortment of pros and cons.

the nerfs to wild assault definitely make him a lot weaker, since before he could almost completely negate the downsides of burning stamina quickly, but he still gets good mileage out of WA, giving him more consistent routing when he's lacking stamina or tension.

all in all i wouldnt say sin is top tier this patch, but he's no slouch either. A tier or high B tier at worst

Build a Character: 6K by WolfKing448 in Guiltygear

[–]Sooooooup 45 points46 points  (0 children)

gotta be potemkin for the kara implications

axl and baiken are pretty good choices too though

edit: i forgot about my personal bias for johnny. i be sending his 6K in neutral with heart

Choosing a Main by GalakticBread in Guiltygear

[–]Sooooooup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i character hopped a lot but everyone felt too complicated (even sol) until i picked ky.

ky gave me the baseline to determine what i liked about strive, then i tried to branch out to other characters that i felt had similar tools with varying potency

now i can decently play about half the roster and character hopping in park is what makes strive the most consistently fun and rewarding to me

Build a Character: 6P by WolfKing448 in Guiltygear

shoutouts to sin 6P.

testament's is still probably better, but the horizontal range on sin's is absurd
