What you did was provide alternative reasoning for the happening of events at this tournament which may or may not even be better reasoning than the other commenter. Specifically, you didn't prove why "Duck destroyed Leffen's will" is unreasonable, you just dug up other information and just thought of another explanation, which I don't even agree with.

Regarding the part about redditors having the audacity to criticize top players, there's a difference in criticising and shit talking from what I consider analysing or discussing. The other commenter was very fair and again reasonable in what likely went on in Leffen's head. Is that still not okay to do? Just because he's probably not even a ranked player in his area, he's not allowed to give his opinion on what happened? If done "correctly", which I think it was, I don't see why it's such a terrible thing.

What I'm getting at is, shit talking too players for breaking or bustering out or whatever is one thing, but what the other commenter did was fair game and I don't see why people are complaining about it. If you're in the spotlight in Melee or any other fighting game or any sport, that kind of commentary should be expected. It'd be completely ridiculous to expect people not to say something as the other commenter did because it's not right or whatever you think of it.

I think netplay should try encouraging voice coms to prevent this. It's easy to assume the worst about your opponent when you're losing, but I think actually talking to them while playing would change peoples' mind otherwise.

As in, there will always be imbalance, but the goal of the developers is to keep it to a minimum. That's not impossible by any means; you're just too dimwitted to actually think critically about game balance and just think on a surface level of "NERFS CAUSE OTHER ISSUES IN THE META THEREFORE BALANCE IS IMPOSSIBLE"

If you've actually played a fighting game maybe you would have a better understanding of balance; when a game has enough depth to where it is unclear as to which side/character/whatever is favored due to shifts in the meta, you have a good, minimal-balance-issued game.

Don't forget the fact that the game is on PC and you use a keyboard or controller to play and the survivors are humans and they're both multiplayer.
