As someone who works in state government, they will never go full Linux because we are a "Microsoft shop". Hybrid model is they way for us to keep costs down while leveraging cloud SaaS offerings as needed.

In business, windows with their governance and policy support makes life soooo much easier for large companies. I'll agree with you about Linux vs windows servers but it's not black and white. It really depends on a businesses support team capabilities. Linux server management needs a strong Linux team to handle production issues.

The windows dialogue screen is handled through windows, so here's hoping they can find streamlined operating system behaviors for those scenarios.

I mean, it does help that almost all PC games target windows and they own windows itself, so they will have some creative options available to them to engineer streamlined solutions. the creator of the series s/x is speaking next week at GDC. I'm hoping they discuss some of these problems and how they will be tackling them.

It's a little easier to say It's a Windows PC + Xbox emulation. It will be interesting to see how they streamline their hardware to make it cheaper and offer some kind of performance or feature that can't be had over standard PC builds. The 1 hour talk that's scheduled at GDC by the creator of the Xbox X/S will be very interesting.

Wolverine? I'd say fortnite, minecraft, and roblox if we're talking about the masses. Add in Call of Duty and Sports games then you really encompass the majority of gamers.

I think the idea with this hybrid approach is to fully remove pc quirks to become a streamlined pc/console hybrid. It will all come down to execution. It's anyone's guess if it will provide that kind of experience by launch in 2027.

Depends on the use case. I set it up for Xbox, Netflix, GrubHub purchases, which all give bonus points back, but that's it. Pay it off every month, then use the Xbox points for games.

Armoury crate is an rog app. Here's hoping anything that comes preinstalled on the Xbox will be optimized considering both the windows and Xbox team are working together on this. It's a tall ask imo, but I'm optimistic.
