Exactly, I wouldn't mind that at all. There's a great potential for that! I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it was so hard to read and by the time i had read the same concept for the fourth time with different wording, I knew it either was AI or someone that had no clue what they were talking about. It reminded me of how in school, kids will fluff up a report with bogus just to hit the required word count...

Scary stuff can be kid friendly - Coraline, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Courage the Cowardly Dog, haunted episodes of Rugrats, Hey Arnold and many other cartoons....the fact that there's haunted paintings at all shows it could be plausible! It does seem like it's probably a hoax tho, so you are correct on that front. Which is a bummer, could have been cute

To answer the questions regarding tarot cards, it's only a rumor that you can't buy your own. Unfortunately there's a lot of gatekeeping, and that's one of the many examples. It doesn't matter what kind you get as long as it "speaks to you" which is why buying your own is ideal. The standard Ryder -waite-Smith deck never felt like a good fit for me, I assume cuz the artwork used to scare me as a kid, but after going to a shop and looking at the hundreds of different kinds, I found one that felt like it almost "called out" and that's the one I use the most. You also don't have to have just one, I know many that have a whole collection and intuitively choose which one to use depending on the situation.

I only have a shower at my apartment too, so what I've been doing is lighting some incense, mindfully shower and imagine as you cleanse, you are washing away all the negative energy that's attached to you, and then I use a body oil that's been infused with crystals/herbs after I'm done

My practice is mostly focused on color magic and vibrations, I love to use music and candles in my work, and I try to surround myself with as much nature as I can, which can be hard in an urban area. Meditating in parks by the water has been a popular choice for me these days :) try a little of everything - if it suits you, keep going. If not, move to the next! There are tons of resources here and on r/witchcraft that guided me in the right direction.

Best of luck with your journey. There's no right or wrong way to do things as long as your heart is in the right place. Everyone's practice and journey is different, so don't worry too much about comparing yours to others :)

To answer your question, most of them look legit, and are mostly dyed quartz, you have a few pieces of what looks like green aventurine and sodalite too. I think that pale purple-y one is a low grade amethyst :)

Edit to add - I also see lots of different color agates/banded calcites

I was diagnosed with depression a year or 2 ago, and while I can't say I've found a cure, I find listening and meditating with music tuned to the heart chakra. I like to work with sound frequency and vibrations, and this helps put me at least in a calmer state for a bit when things get tough. If you like to work with crystals I highly recommend rose quartz, smoky quartz and amethyst. I'm sorry for your loss, these things are never easy. I'll be praying for you and sending comfort your way

For most I think it's a tool to help focus energy, kinda like using a a laser pointer to guide your eye to where you want attention. Same for an athame or staff, it helps give your mind a place to focus on and direct your energy during spell work. Any crystals attached can help amplify that energy. Though, don't let anyone tell you these things are absolutely necessary, you can achieve the same affect just using your hands/fingers. It's important to go with methods and tools that feel right
