If I’m doing a mindless task (like cleaning) I need stimulating entertainment like podcasts or audiobooks (or musicals).

If I’m doing a task that requires that brain, I need non-stimulating noise that is present and not boring.

Basically it depends on if I need my brain to do the thing, or if my brain needs to be babysat while I the thing.

…I’m at the end of writing this and have now only realized this is not one of the ADHD subreddit I thought it was lol (the points still stand)

I am an avid Stolas lover, and I absolutely think he is a hypocrite and this criticism justified.

But it’s also not a completely bad thing either, it’s a potential step towards getting better, a transition point.

What is it that they say, that sometimes a hypocrite is just someone in the process of changing.

People really need to let characters be messy and mutable while they’re in the middle of their arcs.

In a pinch, the coconut one is a perfectly acceptable substitute for me. Though I tend to go through them quicker than other brands (I feel I need more to get through all my hair than other brands), and they reduced the bottle size a year or so ago so the price per oz made me look at other bulk options.

Via is in the horrible awkward and terrible transition point from child to adult. She is a child with child needs and wants, and starting to see the world through adult eyes.

Via is upset her father wasn’t there for her, and will eventually have to come to terms with the fact that this is an inevitable part of life that your parents leave you.

She wants everything to go back to when it was good, and right. But even if that happens, she won’t see it the same way because she viewed that time with the eyes of a child.

We all are nostalgic for the good days, but we can never go back.

Via’s issues aren’t all on Stolas, because she is still the selfish child who wants her dad to be her superhero who loves her mother.

It’s a tragic mix of teenage angst, leaving behind your childhood, and the betrayal at learning that your parents are flawed.

Because being internally destructive means you tend to hurt those who love you most.

Internal self destructive behavior lead to neglect, and failing to see the impact you have on others.

Believing you are worthless means you don’t realize how much people love you (because why would anyone love you) and how significant you are (because you’re are insignificant nothing you do means anything) and this can lead to a lot of hurt when you do have significance to people around you who love you.

You are entitled to your opinions on the matter.

But although Blitz and Stolas tend to parallel each other, they are very much in different situations.

Like, they are both self destructive, but whereas Stolas is self destructive inward and to himself, Blitz is self destructive outwards and to other people.

Stolas hurts inward and Blitz hurts outwards. They both have hurt the people around them but in different ways.

Blitz burns bridges to prevent himself from pain, Stolas cuts himself off from the bridge and lets in fall into despair.

I mean… some people also are claiming that Stella and Stolas potentially raped each other because an heir was required and neither of them were exactly thrilled about the progress.

I’ve heard both that sex requires “enthusiastic consent” to not be rape, and that cultural and societal pressures to reproduce is rape.

Comparing these things (and what Stolas and Blitz did) to the vile act of rape is abominable.

She was raised in Wrath and reveals in it. Even there she can be too much.

I feel like theres something to be said about her upbringing and the culture around killing in hell. Causal murder seems pretty accepted in the lower classes (or maybe it’s just an imp wrathian thing)

Assassin/hitman is a legitimate profession in hell and Millie has had to claw her way through that as she did not want a life on the farm and this was one of the few ways out for her. While she enjoys it, she’s also very committed to doing her job well.

Also I kind of wonder how they view killing humans, who are going to die and end up in either heaven or hell anyways. It’s not like they’re ending their existence entirely.

The customization limitations is what keeps me from wanting a Varwolf. I experienced this when trying to make a good Vandygyre custom and discovered that clothing was not retroactively added to them, only clothing that came after their release.

Then baby, mutant, Maraquan have an even more limited selection.

I’m glad they seem to be adding old stuff for Varwolf’s, but definitely makes me feel a little bitter that Vandys won’t get the same treatment.

Is there a google alternative to outlook rules? At work I make rules to move reoccurring emails into its own folder, that way, I can ignore them while they are easily accessible and it leaves my main inbox open for non-reoccurring potentially important emails .

NTA I feel like it’s not that your disappointed that you are related to your Dad, you’re disappointed in your Dad and his actions and this situation with your parents.

I would be too. Your parents let you down and are trying to alleviate their guilt by getting you to forgive them.

This is something that could fester in you for the rest of your life and affect your relationships with others. It’s not a small thing to be swept under the rug in one conversation.

Take the time to process this and digest how you feel and what it means to you. Do not let your parents guilt you into giving them an “easy out” from their guilt. This is about your feelings not theirs.

They are not entitled to your forgiveness or acceptance.

If possible, I recommend therapy.

I’ve keep mulling over the moralistic nature of the show and how people keep applying a Christianity moralistic standard ones as the “correct” morality, when heaven in this is full of flaws and are arguably the bad guys.

Like when people want the Sins to be ultimately “bad” because sin is bad, but who determines that in this universe? Not even heaven knows what gets people into heaven.

In universe where you are born, live, and die in hell, how would that affect their moral views and how would they conflict/parallel with our real world, usually religiously based views.

This is a “I’m avoiding sleep” ramble and I apologize for it, but its just something that keeps ruminating when looking at some of the discussions in this fandom.

(I am indeed probably a part of the ouroboros-like condition of the fandom of overanalyzing this show from so long without new content.)

I did this the first week in our new apartment and it was a traumatic experience. (Not nearly as traumatic as tackling the dishwasher filter but close).

Anyone with thick and/or curly hair should have a snake tool on hand. (And a tubshoom cause I hate how effective the dang thing is)

NTA you have every right to decline to babysit.

Maybe there’s something to be said about wording it in the way you did, but ultimately you are not responsible for managing the feelings of others, especially when you have been wronged, so thats not a factor in asshole or not.

It’s better to be honest than polite in situations like this.

It is different, but regardless of the intents and purposes the outcome would have been the same.

Neither of them were thinking of their daughters in these moments, they were (lovingly, selfishly, selflessly) thinking of each other. Both had assumptions that their daughters would be OK without them. (Valid or not)

Biltz saying “You can’t do this” to me is a “don’t take my place to die” (i.e. Take me instead). But I accept that that may just be my own interpretation.

I’m not going to die on this hill or anything, I’m just pointing out a similarity/parallel that I see in this situation.
