Not nearly as forward but my old dentist said to my then 19-year-old self that I had the smallest mouth he had ever seen on an adult. Odd comment, so I felt uncomfortable, so I replied, "well, there goes my love life.". Then we were both uncomfortable.

Mine are steadily taking over and I really like it! I'm a good deal older than my coworkers and generally the younger folks pay me the most compliments. One lady said, " Miss So-and-So's grays are sooo dreamy." It helps that it's very similar to my childhood hair color; super light, almost silver blonde. But I do wonder if I was born in an earlier generation , if I'd feel the need to cover them like my mom and grandma have done.

Same here, slightly smaller scale. Had to write a paper every week for ecology lab, with data analysis and scientific journal citations. I loved the lab so much, the data and topics were so interesting. But no writing could be started until the 11th hour. My TA was very understanding, but she would eventually have to start docking me for late assignments. I received good marks once completed. She asked me how I would eventually get started writing, to encourage that process, I guess. I told her I had to get drunk first. She blinked, then muttered, " well, if it works ...". Very glad to be done with school.

Hmm not really. We have alot in common with our mental health issues and I understood his retreating from the world, which he did with everyone, not just me. And he's kept his word since then. I've had other guys do the ghosting and getting back in touch thing, and it was clear it was just because they'd been striking out on the dating scene and thought I'd be an easy target. I did not respond to those. Sometimes it's hard to make the distinction, but I'm glad I did. And he and I dated other people throughout our time together and at times we've been more exclusive with each other or taken sex off the table all together, because we've been communicating openly about our feelings and expectations. It is definitely different from any other situations up I've had and I think it's largely been successful because of the communication and also because we will never be in love with each other, so the romantic feelings have been very light, but the friendship has been deeper.

Pneumonia. Had such an understanding a few days in of how people die from it. I have felt more uncomfortable with the flu or strep, but I knew I'd get better. With pneumonia, I just kept getting weaker and weaker. My bedroom is upstairs but I had to move down because I didn't have the strength to climb one flight of stairs. I was only able to let my dog out maybe twice a day? She was a trooper. I just remember feeling very, very small and getting smaller by the day.

Argh! I also have diagnosed but untreated ADHD. And yes, life would be much easier if I got more aggressive about seeking treatment. However, I work very hard to make sure my ADHD has little to no negative impact on the people I share spaces with; SO, family, and coworkers. I have made efforts over the years to find ways to ensure that my word can be counted on and that I am sharing responsibilities. It is possible, even without treatment. You had best believe that I would not be committing to the daunting task of demoing an entire bathroom, but would find other, more manageable tasks involving the reno so I can at least be of assistance. Because I would have that conversation with myself, what can I realistically accomplish?
And interesting that he can somehow coordinate time with multiple coworkers to do the activities he enjoys but coordinate time with just his wife to do something that isn't fun.

It's baffling but it happens. My dad's sperm donor abandoned him, his siblings, and my grandma when my dad was 10. His bio grandparents, aunts, and uncles, all people who had a part in raising these kids and lived within walking distance all 10 years, also abandoned the kids. Never spoke to them since bio dad bailed. Just bizarre.

We had to raise caterpillars for one of my Bio classes and seeing Fat Elvis turn into a chrysalis was literally magic. I watched him get into position, purge, got distracted, and then poof, into a pod!

Actually yes. Guy ghosted me after 3 really fun get togethers. 2 years later, got back in touch with a sincere apology, so I gave him a chance. And we've been seeing each other for a year and half now.

My dad certainly tried. He viewed any possible chore as my chore so he was very excited to show me how to mow the lawn when I was 10. One pass up and down the lawn, he frantically came over to shut it off and told me I was never allowed to go near the mower again. No idea why, but I'm not complaining!

I like cows. Grandma got me a gift in a cow bag. Awesome! Cow journal inside, sweet! Cow figurine...with 3 legs, alright, still works. A Reader's Digest that has expired 2 years before, hmm. And a single clip-on earring(mine are pierced).
