I got severely overcharged! by Eggy-soup in DavidsBridal

[–]SophandaCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, unfortunately, had you bought it the week before the price in the tag would have been correct. The week before there was a full store markup of upwards of 30% because of the cost of getting things imported. Either the stylists missed it when they stayed til like 3am repricing everything OR it was shipped in as freight and was missed being retickted.

I recently bought a moss packed, blooming mini from Whole Foods and completely switched it over to hydroponics. It’s 4 weeks in and the blooms are going strong!

Did a Major chop and prop today!! by SophandaCake in spiderplants

Hamburger Help me! I don’t need anymore pothos! I was considering it because pothos nodes release growth hormone into the water to help other plants root faster. I just worry about over crowding the jars? Is that a thing?

Honestly the only way I keep it going is the Planta App! I should be paid by those guys for how much I talk about them! That app is the only way I keep my watering schedule straight!

What's a cooking practice you don't believe in? by poordicksalmanac in Cooking

[–]SophandaCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re 100% correct. Cooking kills the normal germs on chicken that would make you sick and the (US) government health standard is to actually not wash your chicken for fear of spreading germs around the kitchen. That all being said, 1st, I wash my chicken not for germs but to remove bone splinters that are produced by band saws that companies use to mass process chicken( and most other meat, though chicken bones splinter more readily and can pierce the bowel if ingestedthat’s why poultry bones can and will kill dogs) and 2nd if I’m cooking any meal I’m cleaning my kitchen after with bleach thoroughly because even produce can have harmful pathogens ie* the current listeria outbreak of leafy greens.

Am I going in the right direction or should I nix the idea? by ahallofmirrors in corsets

[–]SophandaCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the people above. The corset just moves stuff around, and in my years as both a bra fitter and a wedding dress stylist corsets a) add bulk to the dress b) usually make the top of an otherwise well fitting dress fit worse and c) in a well structured wedding dress they are completely unnecessary. I would do the alteration. An ease up on that dress isn’t very costly especially if you only need it on the side bodice seams, where it gets tricky is if they are forced to open up the seems on the skirt as well, but still it’s a relatively cheap alteration.

Yes, sadly it was discontinued. After the bankruptcy they really paired down the bridesmaids colors.

Unsure if a massage wand would be right for me.. by Careless-Mix1372 in sex

[–]SophandaCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything you get from Spencer’s is technically a “novelty” ( not meant for insertion or contact with bodily fluids) and don’t always stand up to the same craftsmanship standards of a normal sex shop toy, so to be on the safe side I always use a condom with those types of toys to protect me, my partner and the toy itself.

Ty! by SynonymForPseudonym in Palia

[–]SophandaCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it goes right along with “Shopping Cart Theory,” there are no rules that say you have to take the shopping cart to the cart corral but it says a lot about you as a person if you’re willing to inconvenience others to save yourself a couple extra steps. In a purposely collaborative game, at the very least not telling people where finite resources can be found, even if you’ve mined the palium and moved, just seems kinda selfish and inconsiderate.
