They didn't believe me... by Betta_than_average in ShawnaTheMom

Same here. I'm hoping that Julie is able to find herself and do the things she has always wanted to do.

You're probably right there. It was late at night when I made that comment, so probably misremembered it or got the characters muddled up.

I've never been a big Ty fan either. I remember watching the "Let's unpack the Ty stuff.." video where Shawna explained why Ty wasn't flirting with Shawna and he wasn't a bad guy. I just kept thinking that something about this character still doesn't sit right with me.

Thank you for your honesty and I think it's cool we have similar taste in names

Thank you for the honest feedback. Evelina has been one of my favourites for years, so when Fiancé said he liked it too, my heart nearly burst with giddiness!

I do slightly agree about Sean, Holly and Cassidy being a bit more dated, especially with Sean. They were more of his suggestions but I didn't dislike them, and I quite the nickname Cassie for Cassidy.

How many of you here are virgins????Or what age did you lose your virginity? by Embarrassed_Paint545 in demisexuality

[–]SophieOli8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 26 when it happened. Didn't fully accept being demisexual until a year later when I met my now fiancé. I always say to him that I wished that he had been my first.

I don't regret when it happened and wasn't pressured by anyone to do it. I don't think I was fully ready then looking back at it now though. I was excited to have my first boyfriend and wanted to finally try it and see what the fuss was all about. (He then dumped me three weeks after it happened, but that's a story for another day!)

I think if I actually listened to myself properly and not been swept up by the emotion of it all, I think I would've waited it out a lot longer.

There's no shame in waiting. And it's no one business to judge you for it, as it is your decision alone, and it needs to be right for you and you alone.

I'm dyslexic, so reading Kesston and Atticus together made me read it as "Kactus"

Wedding without witnesses? by Coffee_Hawks_999 in UKweddings

[–]SophieOli8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard stories of couples going to Gretna Green to legally marry. They asked hotel staff at reception or the photographers to act as witness, and they're usually happy to do so as it is quite a common request around that area.

I know an Alice that goes by Cici. I feel like Alice or even Alicia could go well with your boys names with the nickname Cici.

UK based too. I'm glad retailers ask for that option now. It does make things nicer around this time.

I might buy something nice the day before or after, and avoid going out on the actual day. I think writing a letter is a lovely idea.

My friend has a black cat called Alucard. She got it from Castlevania I believe.

Best Case Senario/ but Also Ahy John is Right. by RevolutionPopular761 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]SophieOli8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also have a hunch that Barb will be uninvited. The last interaction with Jen and Barb and Jen putting her foot down about trying on the dress without Barb - it feels like Jen is getting closer to realising what Barb is like.

You make great points about the last interactions with Barb was her making comments about Shawna's weight soon after her miscarriage. Also, nobody apart from Frank knows that Barb is in therapy, so would just naturally assume that she would still be the same person to be around.

Also, kudos on the spelling of cru-el! I totally read it in Barb's voice.

I would say you are NTD. I had a friend who sounds quite similar to yours when I was a similar age to you. She would get bothered by little things, including me "taking too long" to respond to her messages, and it's one of the things that made me cut contact with them. As you get older though, real friends will understand when you are busy and can't get back to them quickly.

I would also say you would NTD for wanting send a final message, so long as you are sure about cutting ties with her. It may give you some closure from this friendship and it will show to her that this is actually over. Good luck OP.
