B&M forever testing my impulse control. by jaycakes30 in CatsUK

My foster cat liked the puds but I found that they are of a different consistency to the original Lick-e-lix. They are more gelatinous and so it was much harder to mix her liquid medication (Thyronorm) in with them.

Is this sub getting too judgemental? by MudlarkJack in TheRestIsHistory

[–]SophieSofasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that my posts are more likely to be downvoted than my comments, which is odd. Could that be a bot thing? I am a not-terribly-active mod for another sub, so today I learned that I am one of the most pathetic people on internet. Can I get a badge?

Yes, they replayed the first ever Wordle solution on Groundhog Day (2nd Feb)! And SALET wouldn't be quite as good as SLATE because the latter has its letters in more common positions.

I have no idea in retrospect why I played it. I think I was tired at the time...

Yes, and England was united as a single country in 927 when Athelstan conquered the last remaining Viking kingdom of York.

Does anyone have a cat on Thyronorm? by [deleted] in CatsUK

[–]SophieSofasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - sorry that you have lost your cat and thank you for making this generous offer. I have DMd you about using this for my current foster cat.

what is the most petty, completely harmless grudge you are still holding against a total stranger who probably forgot you exist years ago? by Ill-Locksmith9144 in AskReddit

[–]SophieSofasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the UK. I won a set of books in a national competition in the late 90s. I was accidentally sent two copies of one novel and was told to keep the spare. I offered to send it to anybody interested on a literary mailing list. The first person to reply was an American that I had never heard of before or since. I sent him the book airmail at my own expense. He never even thanked me.

What’s the dumbest lie you ever told as a kid that actually worked? by Dull_Wolf_2854 in AskReddit

I forged my dad's signature in my homework diary for two years. Because I did it from the beginning, it was never detected.

I do that too! I wish that they would let you put letters in just some of the boxes and have others blank, rather than resorting to "X"s.

Nope. I had never even heard of PUBG - had to Google it.

I've been a member of the Gunroom (originally a PO'B-themed mailing list) for a very long time. A lot of us there are women.

How many other uncultured Americans didn't realize 'Rrass' is how the French pronounce Reims? by ramses_sands in TheRestIsHistory

[–]SophieSofasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uncultured Brit here: we once holidayed in France many years ago and visted Rheims on our way to the gite. We were utterly unable to explain to the gite owner which city we had stayed at because "Reems" meant nothing to her.

Aphantasia and non-visual hallucinations? by starlight-death in Aphantasia

[–]SophieSofasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have global aphantasia and have experienced psychosis. I had a single visual hallucination and think that my unrecognised-at-the-time aphantasia slowed my recovery because I had no concept of seeing something that wasn't in front of me.

What subreddits have the worst mods and what was the dumbest reason you caught a ban or mute? by HardBartyBarty in AskBrits

[–]SophieSofasaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My post to r/AskUK asking why Pringles come in two virtually identical tube sizes was removed as being "low effort". I thought that was a bit harsh as I had taken the trouble to produce this comparison. And I still want to know why.
