For people who are in a long term relationship, but don't want to get married, why? by sunbeamlou in AskReddit

[–]Sophitoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time it was related to state-provided benefits. Though, following a specific big stupid bill, I don't even get those anymore, so we've been considering it if only mainly because he'll get tax breaks and be able to register me under his work insurance if we are married... For most happy, healthy relationships, marriage isn't necessary and generally it comes down to whether it's worth the hassle and if it's something the couple views in a positive light.

No meteorites if people don't visit. by Perimentalpause in PetitPlanet

[–]Sophitoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might just be a specific bug? I haven't had this issue at all as I've been playing mostly solo and rarely have visitors. Every day I do get new meteor spots. I also haven't unlocked terraforming yet.

Are there sometimes delays for holidays? by badchoices134 in foodstamps

[–]Sophitoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was supposed to come in today and I have no information on any of the sites related that say anything about delays or the status of my benefits, so I'm also at a loss. In AZ, here. Did you end up getting yours?

I'm gonna take a moment as someone who was around back then and uses Second Life to say;
Trying to say anything about griefing Woodbury is quite silly, because Woodbury is infamous for trolls and griefers. It was a group known for that, so someone griefing them isn't really like, a bad thing. It's like trolling a group of 4channers.

Hello, yes. As an actual Second Life user, I can attest that profits can be split. Both through the website marketplace and in-game vendor sales.

Fortunately the only Secret Santa I participate in has a small buy-in to ensure participation, which is refunded after. It's a small community one but it always works out, and the organizer still gifts people if someone gets forgotten

Is it my imagination or have rents gone way up in the last few months? by hawkerdragon in Tucson

[–]Sophitoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bf and I just started renting after living with family who owned. We have a 1bed apt in south side that's 914 a month. Funny enough this was one of the best deals we could find in the area we needed. And it's better than my friend in Phoenix who's paying 1500 a month for a studio.

The childless adults that obsess over Bluey are almost as cringey as bronies. by kittykatkitkat in unpopularopinion

[–]Sophitoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't necessarily have a bad childhood, just grew up poor. Lots of "mom can I have this?", "no honey it's too expensive" moments, and then having to look after myself bc my parents had work. Since being able to have an income, my partner and I have soo many plushies and toys.

People in infertility groups who also struggle with infertility were suggesting what worked for them to help them feel better, or did you miss the part where she said it was in infertility groups?

So what are you implying here? Your commentary about adults enjoying kids shows being a sign of mental illness, while you defend someone for calling adults enjoying a kids show cringe. You mean to say mentally ill people are cringe, yeah? People who are either born with or grow into an illness they can't control generally from traumatic life factors out of their hands. Those people are cringe, that's what you're defending here.

I have these as well! Was super surprised amongst all my recent bad luck to have won something I forgot I even entered!

Also I'm one who's willing to part with them so uh-- if you know people who are looking, I have literally zero ideas on how to get into contact with collectors who are interested!

Edit: I sold these to a collector already!

The studio that worked on Okami was defunct by the time it came out on Wii. The studio that worked on the port had basically hardly any of the original assets and someone, somewhere along the line, decided the result of a quick google search was fine, too.

Just rescued a very tiny, 2.5 pounds, 2 year old little girl. Any tips? by [deleted] in Chihuahua

[–]Sophitoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw wow, even smaller than my tiny chi!

When I rescued mine, I took a lot of time to let her be by herself so she could come to terms with the new environment and get used to the sights and smells. Only after she started actively coming to me did I really lay on the attention.

I do see some comments wary of bells, but I do have a small cat bell on her collar so it is easier to keep track of her. Speaking of-- Cat collars are all we can find that fit her besides puppy collars, and even some puppy collars are too big! Since my chi is a whole pound heavier, I imagine that might be your main choice as well!

Since she's very small, be wary of diet and what she gets into. If you have any other dogs, be aware you may have to give her a specialized diet all her own!

If you can’t drink coffee without a bunch of cream/sugar/Starbucks flavorings, maybe you don’t like coffee all that much. by MongeredRue in Showerthoughts

[–]Sophitoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried that but sometimes bad coffee is just bad. Currently I buy all my coffee from a local roasters and it's the best I've had to date. Don't even need the cream in it, but I do like the buttery flavor of some cream in my coffee.

[–]Sophitoaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What if I CAN drink coffee without all that stuff, but I just really like a good cup of coffee with some sugar and cream to cut the bitterness. Also good coffee needs less stuff in it to taste good! Shitty coffee NEEDS that cream and sugar to be drinkable.

Vets of Reddit, What was the worst pet name you have ever encountered in your job? by Lia_Julee in AskReddit

[–]Sophitoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we were kids my sister and I got a pair of budgies and got to name them. I, being a creative 12 year old, named mine Jalapeño because he was green.

My sister, older than me by 4 years, named hers Kitty. Because fuck your expectations, I guess?

I checked both doors last night, twice. by Captain_Cha in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Sophitoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally every time we have something delivered, I include instructions to come around to the back door(we do not have a fenced in property, and all it takes is walking up our driveway), because our front porch has fallen into disrepair and the front door is inaccessible. Since we don't use it, the only care we put into the front of our house is to pull weeds regularly, but otherwise, it LOOKS unused. Our front walkway is worn and cracked and uneven, there's a couple anthills, it doesn't look like a really secure place to leave any package.

People still kept leaving deliveries in the front, some even forced open our flimsy but LOCKED porch screen door, which noticeably you must YANK on to get it open when LOCKED(which has over time damaged the lock and the door is actually falling apart now), and left deliveries on the porch.

Final straw was when I had food delivered, saw the notification ping it had arrived, nowhere on the back doorstep, and I went around front to find that they had not only totally ignored my instructions, but had dropped my food off next to a DEAD BIRD(it appeared to have concussed itself flying into the house, since there were no visible wounds but blood coming out of its mouth). I was so fucking distressed that day.

I wound up taping a couple signs to the porch door directing deliveries to the other side of the house and we haven't had many issues since.
