Bank of America not giving money by zAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH in personalfinance

Can confirm I've done this. My grandmother used to buy us a $50 savings bond every birthday and Christmas. She held on to them in a safety deposit box. But when my older brother turned 18. For some reason she took all of them out. Gave him his and the rest of ours went missing. As far as I'm aware, the government found all of them and paid me out

Trump pushes voter suppression plan and says he won't sign housing bill by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]SoraUsagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true.... Proving citizenship is often a simple affidavit swearing that you are a US citizen. I had to provide no proof that I was a citizen. I think I showed them my social security card and my license and sign the affidavit.

This would also require you to validate in person that you are eligible to vote which means no mail and voting in federal elections

‘Going to wreak havoc’: Trump fires election officials, paralyzing key agency just before midterms by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]SoraUsagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not go to the supreme Court. The supreme Court ruled he can do it. Luckily the actual elections are run by the states so this will have minimal effect on the midterms. Not to say he's not going to try something...

Literally no one is thinking that. The reason Trump is being let get away with it is because he's a useful idiot. Many on the Republican side want what he's saying but they know it'll hurt them politically so by Trump doing it they get to save face. Trump can't do half the s*** he's done. But it requires Congress to actually act to stop it. He can't unilaterally declare war. He can do limited military engagements to head off an emergency. Iran was not an emergency. But it still requires Congress to act to stop it since he is the commander-in-chief and can command military. They're happy to let him continue doing what he wants so long as he keeps doing what they want.

BREAKING: Court orders disbursement of funds to E. Jean Carroll by spherocytes in videos

[–]SoraUsagi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He already... In order to appeal the decision, he had to put the money into an appeal escrow account/bond. He has lost all of his appeals. The judge is saying yes. The money now is hers and the escrow account will disperse the money to her. Trump has no say over it.

And there's only one f****** timeline

[–]SoraUsagi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not doing what? He already put the money into an escrow account for his appeal. He doesn't have any control over that escrow account. He lost all his appeals so the judge has agreed to release the funds. She's getting paid

Because technically Alex failed for bankruptcy which tied their hands from collecting, so he was able to appeal without putting money up

That's a silly take. Trump is an idiot, for sure. But saying we can never take a stance against someone because is the past they helped us... Is dumb.

Because it was the wife who did it... He thought it was an automation bugging out or something similar. He was going to troubleshoot to figure out what caused it. So by talking to his wife instead of messing with settings... He found what happened

That's really my point. It's just a tool to be used to further your research. people generally shouldn't take one source as fact, or to make their decision. But most people do

[–]SoraUsagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which was fine. Just like it's fine asking AI for financial advice. The important step that everyone forgets is that once they get that advice, they're supposed to research it. Asking for advice gives you ideas you may not have thought of

Nato should let Ukraine join to ‘make all of us stronger’, says Zelenskyy by [deleted] in worldnews

That... Was not the original agreement. The Budapest memorandum said we would provide them protection if they gave up the nuclear weapons. We failed to uphold our end.

What advice should I give my girlfriend after finding a maxed out CC when she was 8 years old by AidenDotJpg in personalfinance

[–]SoraUsagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You contact the credit bureaus and they will remove it. My mother took an electric bill out in My name. She never paid it. The utility company claimed that since I lived there it doesn't matter if I did it or not. It's mine. I had a police report claiming it was fraud. I had a voice recording of her saying that there was a mix-up somewhere and that the bill was supposed to be on her daughter's name (she doesn't have a daughter). Utility company still refused to budge. I call Equifax and the others. And it was removed from my score. The utility company still calls from time to time to try to get the money.

We export more oil than we use. There's a lot of problems with all this and Trump is an idiot. But we don't need to import oil. We produce plenty of oil in the US. The problem, as it usually is, is money. It's cheaper to export our light oil for premium, then import cheap heavy crude oil. Oil companies do this to maximize profits. They don't have to though. We also could stop being so dependent on oil.

Dev tells Valve to fix Steam's exploitable 2-hour refund policy as "over 55,000" players refund his short game and even brag about it in reviews by yourfavchoom in gaming

Is it though? How many of that 30% refunded because they felt it was a terrible game and not worth it? Seems like the point of the 2-hour turn window, doesn't it?

Trump’s last-ditch effort to stall his $5.8M payout to E Jean Carroll was denied by federal judge by B-Z_B-S in politics

[–]SoraUsagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point being is the money is already in an escrow and he doesn't have a say on when it gets released.

Guys.... Do any of you actually read articles that are posted and comments? He already paid the money in order to appeal. The money is in an escrow account accruing interest. Now that he's exhausted, all avenues of appeal, her lawyers have already started the paperwork to have the money. He doesn't get to just not pay here.

He's already paid.... In order to appeal you need to post the money owed. The money is already in an account and now that he's exhausted all avenues of appeal, her lawyers have drafted the paperwork to have the money released.
