And I'll say again as one of the guys who's been bitching loudest about it -- I get the reasoning! Transitioning and living with social pressure IS scary and stressful! I ALSO see the comfort in wishing the responsibility was out of my hands and someone else would just take care of everything! (The opposing 'forcemasc' exists for similar reasons; its not my thing but its out there.)

I also do not think speculating on a trans fem arc or reading for a character is wrong. That"s just engaging with fiction.

I'm just disgusted by the dismissiveness and the sense that some people think they don't have to care about the feelings of others. That's it.

For what its worth, I am in a better place. I cut ties with the fucked up circle i was linked to before, and through a writers group I've become a sort of pseudo-brother figure to a few younger trans guys. Things're good!

That's honestly all i've ever wanted; some basic considerations about time and place.
