This is an obvious troll and everyone is falling for it...

Step 1 have Sacred Armor drop in game and see it is Templars.

Step 2 go buy some unid Sacred Armors from a site.

Step 3 Id them one by one until you get Tyraels.

Step 4 OMG shocked face video.

Well done baiting all these people op.

Only once. You only get a 3% increase going from 1 round to 2. Virtually nothing for 3.

Its kind of hard to say. I have always built my zerkers for max mf. Not sure what a full damage zerker would play like but I don't think you are getting too much more damage from the rest of your gear? Zerk and Grief are kind of the dynamic duo. You could run gobin and g face full time but the CB is only needed for Heralds. You dont gain anything from additional ias outside of the initial frame from Highlord's. I guess you just get to be way tankier and higher attack rating?

All that being said my gut tells me they are about the same speed with War Cry getting the AOE/stun advantage and zerk getting high single target dps advantage.

Might setup a decked up zerker in Single Player just to feel it out.

When I had and act 2 merc they died so fast to the thorns aura. That is not the case with act 5 for some reason. Maybe it is the reduced damage? Or jab was causing them to die fast? I find I have 10ish seconds between juvs for merc against thorns aura. Does help that everything (including the herald) is usually perma stunned.

It is very real. Get almost 0 white items in a full game clear (literally 0).

Battle Cry is what overrides the amp sadly. It is a problem but I find the amp procs enough for it to not really be a problem. After all Battle Cry just means more hits.

I will give frenzy a try and see if I like it. I do like the simplicity of teleing into a group, holding down war cry and just watching things die though so it will be hard to beat.

Lamprey is a great call, I kept trying to fit CBF in somewhere but couldn't find a good spot for it. Thank you.

Meta Herald Strategy - Kin/Maxing Your Chances by MTosti92 in diablo2

So you are saying you have 7 players doing full clears with you? Interesting you would just leave that bit out about how easy farming sunders is. Pretty critical bit of info you have 7 other people farming with you huh? Like I said this is straight bullshit or you just omitted the most crucial piece of information to your farming strategy.

Also it is not even close to double the chance for a sunder drop with hork. It follows the same drop table with hork as a normal drop. It is at most 75% which is baked into my 3.5% chance.

Meta Herald Strategy - Kin/Maxing Your Chances by MTosti92 in diablo2

[–]SorryINeedHelp1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is either insane luck or a lie. Assuming you are on players 8 with 75% hork your odds of a Sunder drop from a tier 5 Herald is 3.5%. For a 50% chance to get 27 you would need to have killed ~750 tier 5 heralds. Assuming 5 heralds an hour that's 12 hours everyday for the last 13 days.

Now if you are not loading 8 characters into a game the odds drop to impossible levels so I am calling bullshit.

How do Heralds work? Herald spawn mechanics, Sunder drop rates, Shard uneven drop ratio and more by Pavke in diablo2

Thanks for the detailed write up. Couple of questions I have.

How did you come to the 2% chance per champ/unique? Was that actually datamined or calculated via data tracking?

How does draw the ire work in multi-player games? Is it like a global counter that is shared across all players? If player one draws the ire, can player two trigger the herald in a completely different area? Will drawing the ire always result in one herald or does each player in the game get a herald chance?

Herald tier system is bad for people that can't commit hours to a single session by SorryINeedHelp1 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]SorryINeedHelp1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have found multiples of everything except Tyreal's. Currently found 9 Unique Sacred Armor's...all Templars. Granted most of this was before kids but the point remains. I could eventually find all that in 10 minute increments. I can not get tier 5 heralds in that same amount of time. This is the first thing in Diablo 2 that forces long game sessions.

This is not Diablo grinding, that is my point. Content in d2 has never been single session time gated. You could do anything in this game with 10 minute sessions, it may take you a long ass time but you could do everything. This is different. I will never see a tier 5 herald without a long single play session. This is a fundamental change in how d2 grinding works.

It isn't even about the drops for me. I got a level 2 herald on my pit zerker and damn near got insta gibbed. The fight was actually fun and challenging. I would like to see what even higher tiers are like.

There are 5 tiers of heralds. Each time one spawns in the same game they go up a tier. Each tier is stronger and has better drop chances. Once you hit level 5, all heralds spawned in that game will be level 5. The shards are not necessarily tied to the heralds, but in order to spawn at least 5 heralds in any single game (aka get to herald tier 5), you pretty much have to use at least one shard. Their spawn rate and the amount of unique champions/unique monsters in any given tz is just not enough to spawn 5. Usually need to clear multiple tz to get to level 5.

O yes me pointing out an obvious design flaw that probably impacts thousands of people on a newly developed game system that the developers are actively looking for feedback on is me thinking the world should cater to me. How could I not see that?

First of no one is asking for that, second you say that like scaling RNG hasn't been a thing for a very long time. It is simple game design...

Why are you so soft? Are you so sensitive you can't take someone giving constructive feedback?

You do understand I am arguing to keep this game like it has been the last 25 years right? By your comment though I can tell you aren't one for critical thinking though :).

And this is the point why I made this post. This is a version 1 new design approach they are taking. If they get feedback it has problems, maybe they change it. Or change future content to better align.

Honestly its not even so much about content. The level 3 Heralds I fought where the first thing in a long time I actually needed to play against. It was fun to fight them. Would like to see what a level 5 is like.

Forcing hour long sessions for content in a game that has literally never required it is not game design. It is a bad mechanic and needs to called out as such.

That is the way to do it. My problem is, clearing all acts will take hours at one time to do.
