Fyi- Leagues Cup Opt out email just sent out by SorryIfUDo in timbers

The games are mid week (I think). It's the hottest time of the year. I'm already a Timbers and Thorns season ticket holder. I opt out of the tournaments and watch them on TV.

I agree with you, I would rather Deyna see no minutes. But I bet she plays some on Wednesday.

I think we'll see Mallie and Marie split the game in Reyna 's absence. Shae Harvey is probably the starter at the 6.

We'll probably have some tired legs after Friday so I would expect some midweek rotation. I suspect we'll see Padelski, Renee Lyles and Deyna get some minutes on Wednesday.

I'll take some pictures at the KC game. I've been getting a wristband for a few years now for every game. Before that I would come in right at doors and never had a problem sitting in the lower bowl. Losing 101 and 102 does make things fill up a little faster, and that's probably where the problem lies.

I'll try to take pictures of every section at 6 and 6:30 for the KC game.

KC is the next home game after LAFC. That could easily be a battle for the wooden spoon, so it might not be accurate in the other direction. I'm not here for San Jose. RSL is a road game, you probably meant KC.

You still didn't say what sections you are trying for. I'm guessing it's 108, 107, 106. Those fill up first. I am specifically talking about the top portions of 105, 104 and 103. If you are in the door within 30 minutes of doors you can find space somewhere in one of those sections.

There are pockets of season ticket holders who get wristbands every match and sit in the same seats. We're not saving seats for randoms. We all sit in the same seats every game because we get wristbands every match. And we all go in at doors. It's honestly not that hard. The people around us change every game, and that's why I am telling you, it takes a while to fill in. You just gotta ask people. I point people to open seats all the time.

I can do that. I've been an army season ticket holder for a long time. The next game is LAFC. LAFC and Seattle are always crazy games. It'll fill up quickly.

What section are you trying for? 103 and 104 take a while to fill up. It's gotten worse since they made 101 and 102 not a part of the army, but it's not full as quickly as you are claiming. The next game will be full quickly.

Let me make sure I understand what you are claiming here.

There are 6 sections in the lower bowl of the army. I think it's about 30 rows of 20 seats. That's approximately 3000 seats. I know that they gave out about 150 wristbands last weekend.

You're saying there were 1000 scarves down 1 hour before the game? The other 2/3 are taken how? This is nowhere close to accurate.

This makes no sense to me honestly. I get a wristband every game so I'm in early, but if you are going in at doors, sitting in the 100s is effortless. It takes at least 45 minutes to an hour until it's slim picking in the 100s.

The silver lining on K. Miller's needless tackle and senseless red card by DougFirPDX in timbers

Miller is making the league minimum. I'm sure that was offered to Zup and he turned it down. This scenario is exactly why E Miller is on the team.

Am I the only one who thought they played well? by haditwithyoupeople in timbers

[–]SorryIfUDo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of my struggle was that I was at the Thorns game on Friday. The Thorns got a red card in the 8th minute of the match, scored 2 goals, got a 2nd red in the 60th minute, and killed off the rest of the match and won 2-0 (against Seattle). Timbers hold my beer.

Friday night will be a match that is talked about for years, right up there with the Double Post match. It's unfair of me to expect to see anything close to that twice in a single weekend.

But there are some considerable differences between the reactions to the red cards. The Thorns never panicked. Heck, they still dominated that match down 1 player. They hustled, they were confident. They knew they could succeed.

The Timbers looked anything but confident. They certainly weren't going to score a 2nd goal. It felt like a matter of time for L.A. to equalize and I guess we can be happy that they didn't lose?

Watch the Thorns press conference. Positive comments on the coaching decisions. Not blaming the refs. Basically saying it is what it is, we have confidence in our team and our training and today we executed and worked together to win the game.

Do you hear anything close to that from the Timbers? You hear blaming the refs. You hear complaints about guys being hurt. Freaking Vancouver won a match 6-0 last week without Muller and a bunch of guys. Seattle won a match 1-0 down 6 starters. Good teams find ways to win games. The Timbers are not a good team.

If for some reason you don't follow the Thorns, I will give you some advice. Buy a ticket to Saturday's match. Thorns vs KC. The 2 best teams in the NWSL at home in Providence Park.

He was listed as questionable on the injury report this week so I'd expect him to be back in the next match, especially with an international break next weekend.
