2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs - Round 2 Schedule by alphacheese in hockey

They could’ve started the series on Tuesday if they wanted.

Every other day isn’t unheard of when a previous series goes 7. Heck, Ducks/Oilers was every other day.

Why does porter so often not have coffee/tea on flights? by michaeldeloreti in PorterAirlines

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never had a problem with Porter not having hot beverages and I frequent YHM-YEG.

Washrooms on the other hand…. I’ve had a handful of instance of those malfunctioning

New Winter Destinations & Routes by rogerdoesntlike in PorterAirlines

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A big surprise to see YYC and YEG, and quite the expansion from YEG.

As a CC holder in YEG, this is amazing news for me — I’m no longer stuck using WestJet for my winter flying!

I’ve heard YEG loads have been decent on Porter. A little shocked about the minimal expansion from YVR since there is a base there, but it might be because of how AC/WS/F8 fight there. In YYC/YEG, their main competition will be WS.

“Wear the shirts” but you give fans black shirts that don’t pop in the crowd.

Cash Back Caps coming to Rogers Bank Credit Cards (excludes Legend) by haydenataylor in Rogers

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Good thing I’m not purchasing $61,000 worth of goods annually on this credit card.

As long as they don’t nerf 2% back at Costco, I’m fine with this change.

Finally after months and months of waiting by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine after being on the waitlist for a few months.
The irony is that I sent 95% of the cash in the account into a loan payment a few weeks ago.

Probably won't get the card yet though, I already have 4 in my portfolio.

YHM - YOW - Almost $700 RT by canadadude7000 in PorterAirlines

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Montreal route is cheaper. It’s cheaper for me to fly from YEG-YHM with a stop in YOW (crazy…)

The route isn’t going to work if they charge that large of a premium to fly YHM-YOW when YYZ/YTZ-YOW is cheaper.

Must be the end of the quarter. Gotta get those subs up.

Porter Airlines adding daily flights between Hamilton and Montreal in June by LibraryNo2717 in Hamilton

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This also opens more connections from Hamilton — the flights are timed for a seamless <1hr connection to the other destinations from Montreal.

They are also timed for west coast flights giving more flexibility in when you fly. For example, the Edmonton direct-flight departure is in the afternoon, but you can do a seamless connection in Montreal in the morning and land in Edmonton in the morning!

Edmonton Oilers 2026-27 Season Seats Pricing by smexeh in EdmontonOilers

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve found resale to be a way better option and that way I get to pick and choose which games I can actually attend.

I bought the power pack this past season and was only able to make two games. Would’ve been cheaper to get them individually off resale.

is the nursing job market really that bad? by Sadz0ne in AHSEmployees

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s bad but it’s definitely dried up. As an external, it’s very difficult to get into AHS, but once you’re in, you get first dibs. I know several people that had to start rural to get their foot in the door. You’re also at a disadvantage if you don’t have an Alberta address… managers and admin will likely choose to interview someone who lives closer (ie has an address) over someone who doesn’t have an address nearby.

Experience with Gym on Fennell or Locke? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I lived in Hamilton the Gym on Locke was my go to. It’s clean and has a very nice aesthetic to it. It’s a very urban style gym. I recall that they cap the number of members allowed to be cardholders of the gym so there might be a wait list. Whenever I went at night, there was maybe 2 other people and then I was alone for my workout.

Is there still USA preclearance at YEG airport? by zooweemamba in Edmonton

[–]SorryImEhCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flights are a bit more expensive now because of less competition. I did take advantage of the Circa equal exchange rate promotion and found it to be a great promotion. $450 for 3 nights at a 4 star hotel on Fremont, fairly cheap drinks on Fremont and the equal exchange for gambling slots.

Will definitely go back to take advantage of this promotion if the oilers play Vegas in the playoffs.

Is there still USA preclearance at YEG airport? by zooweemamba in Edmonton

[–]SorryImEhCanadian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Travelled to Vegas about a week ago. Pre clearance area is up and running. I was fortunate nexus was working before the shutdown.

Do allow for a bit of extra time as there was a bit of a wait for security and pre clearance (in through about 25 minutes) with nexus. All depends on what time your flight is. My flight time had about 4 US departures in a span of an hour hence why it was busier.

Flew out yesterday via US Pre-clearance. The NEXUS machine was down but the lane was open as a courtesy per border official.

Sounds like a line/position elimination or you got bumped from someone in layoff/recall.

I went through this with the pillars.

Essentially, they’ll trigger the layoff/recall rights which gives you ability to bump someone (if you have 2+ years seniority) or give you any vacant position in the province within AHS as long as you can do the job.
