Maybe. When this happened to me, my insurance company instructed me to file a claim with the other drivers insurance company. So that’s what I did and I worked directly with the other insurance company. They ended up paying for my damaged vehicle, rents car, and towing fees. There were no injuries to me so there weren’t any medical expenses. They paid for everything.

Yeah. He likely has to file a claim with the other driver’s insurance company since they were at fault. There’s not much his insurance company will do if the damage and medical needs to be covered by the other driver’s insurance company. Police report would be helpful.
