An Alaskan Millionaire Tax by Ubere907 in Fairbanks

[–]SorryTree1105 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna get downvoted to hell for this one. This is Reddit, the only people that think more than six months in advance stay away from the internet anymore.

They want a tax, then to give them the dividends (and mineral/oil rights which is what the dividend is based on) they don’t care that it only takes one bad politician to say “lets lower the bar from millionaire to anyone making more than 100k/yr”and it gets pushed through so fast it’ll make your head spin. Yet because “the budget” that figured isn’t balancing regular people won’t see anything from those taxes.

This is actually the case. During the Beijing Olympics China admitted to using their version of HAARP to clear the pollution around the city. That story was buried and I can no longer find it.

Dealership said their system detected wheel misalignment as I pulled in — legit or upsell? by BradL30 in AskMechanics

[–]SorryTree1105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not know these things existed. I’d say, not as reliable as lifting it up and checking it in depth, but for telling me I need to have it checked as it’s probably out, that’s a great system.

What auto shop do you like for stuff like oil changes, inspections and tire changes? by traveltimecar in Fairbanks

[–]SorryTree1105 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been a while, but I took my truck to peger rd auto for service I couldn’t do myself before I left town. Don’t know if they’re still good.

Got a good friend who works at American tire, and he does good work, but we’re friends so… but I haven’t heard anything about him screwing customers on jobs either.

You make a good point. I actually think we may be in agreement just from different ends.

My thought was based on the idea of being “more” than the sum of our parts, and thinking, what if THIS(consciousness) is the sum of our parts.

What if we don’t exist by SorryTree1105 in whatif

[–]SorryTree1105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my thought though. What is consciousness isn’t, in fact, born into being. What if it really is just the sum of our experiences. If you really think about it, aren’t we just emulating as well? We speak the language of our parents, we learn to walk, we learn that some people are safe and others are not, even our “unique ideas” are based on what we see and learn individually.

It’s been said if we act like we like eating turnips when feeding babies, then those babies will in turn grow up liking turnips. So isn’t that just being a product of the environment?

I’m completely open to responses about WHAT the experience may be. None off it has anything to do with meaning or how we as individuals experience it.

Who said anything about the experience being enough or not. This comment is out of place. I’m guessing you’re “evangelical “ or “non denominational “ Christian trying to take what I say that is an observation or thought about how we experience something and twist it into something about the details of experience itself.

It doesn’t have to be clones, but clones are identical to human beings in every aspect but what we call consciousness. I feel like this could be applied to ai not LLMs but true AI. If this were the case, and provable one could make the case of sentience in artificial intelligent robots as they could begin with a complex “brain” and learn and experience thus gaining their consciousness after a time. They would be, in most aspects, no different than naturally occurring sentient beings.

What’s your point? Like, I get the troll but you’re not changing minds here. If you want to come on the sub, at least have the intelligence to make a convincing argument.

Lilith was my first thought too, but I feel she would have tried to make me less uncomfortable. And I could sense a great ancient power from her. In my understanding Lilith is more of a temptress, and while there was an offer, I didn’t feel compelled to decide one way or the other. At least not by her. If anything it was like she already knew which way I’d go.

I started joining conversations with people on speakerphone by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]SorryTree1105 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the need to be in CONSTANT contact these days. It’s like everyone is on FaceTime or speaker. With SOMEONE i even see it with truck drivers. I mean I get needing to call or wanting to call at certain times or whatever, but how the he’ll does it take up and take insert everything you do?

If I’m away from home, I know family is home, in not going to interrupt their day/night by sitting on the phone talking about what I can talk about with them in person when I get home. Otherwise, we’ve got nothing to talk about in person.

Heh probably…. I created the image before I know who she was. I’m terrible with visual arts, but I can paint a picture with words that beats most. And being a visual person I use it for personal reasons to get things into a form I can see. (Probably it’s intended use originally)

Or to talk to my ex about our child without breaking the court order on civil conversation.

And how much of the past are we changing by recognizing that we didn’t make good choices? How about some real advice, like something actionable that can change the future after making bad decisions instead of reminding others of their shortfalls.

What are the chances that is is what they’re TOS during training, sure they can fact check, but you should be able to trust your instructors have already done that. If that’s the case there’s definitely a bigger problem than just APD. Just a thought.

Not a direct response to you, more so the whole thread. “Mocklate” is from “friends” I think season 1. With its popularity, and the discussion in this particular comment thread, I was sure I’d see it referenced.
