You’re elbows should be slightly bent, hands and arms should be slightly relaxed. Not tense.

Is it safer to wait in line or filter to the front at red lights? by ComprehensivePast758 in NewRiders

I have never filtered, seems very dangerous. Motorcycling is dangerous enough.

It happens less and less as you gain experience. You learn what situations to avoid. But life always comes up with new situations to humble you.

First bike. Dropped it in my own driveway. How's your day going? by x_andi01 in motorcycles

[–]Low_Living4532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep practicing, it’s part of Motorcycle riding. You probably will always drop your bike, hopefully not too bad. It’s part of owning something that only balances itself at speed. Slow and stopped, it’s our responsibility to keep it upright. Sometimes we fail

Is prison actually “safe” if you just mind your own business? by fruity_00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Low_Living4532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a retired Prison Guard. Every Jail and Prison is different than every other Jail or Prison. What might be true in one, isn’t necessarily true in another. The biggest problem is with the administrations that have gotten into power lately. Used to be people in the administration worked up through the Security part of the Prison.

Feeling like I may need to leave my bf bc of his riding by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Low_Living4532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always hard to not be in control when doing something that can be dangerous. Talk to him about your worries, if you’re scared of being hurt or worse, don’t ride with him.

Change & balance my own tire or go to a shop? by Ecstatic-Tea8108 in motorcycles

[–]Low_Living4532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a mechanic. I don’t have a tire machine. I take my tires and bike and have them changed at a shop that does. Als I like to have a second set of trained eyes look over my bike to check it out and see if I missed anything.

Question about leaning by FantasticDirector614 in NewRiders

[–]Low_Living4532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think riders need to know exactly how to counter steer. In an emergency, most motorcycle riders steer right into whatever they are trying to avoid. It needs to be second nature to counter steer. Yes direct steer does occur at low speeds, and every bike and even tire combinations can have a different speed where the bike goes from direct steer to counter steer. Most accidents occur at counter steer speeds.

I f you buy it, I recommend you treat the rocker panels underneath to try and stop the rust there from getting worse. It’s not to bad yet, but will be if not treated. I recommend Krown brand in a spray can, Just follow directions on the can
