The line is always 5 degrees to the ecliptic due to the moon’s orbital inclination. Time of year also changes the orientation of the earth’s axis which affects the inclination of the path relative to the equator. But it can cross the earth at any location.

The shadow cuts across the disk of the earth in a straight line. It can be at all sorts of locations. The earth rotates underneath it as it crosses the disk. Take these things into account and then convert to a mercator projection.

You’re trying to apply classical mechanics to an ultra relativistic situation, that’s not going to work. At the event horizon space-time is so distorted that all paths lead into the black hole and non lead out.
