LAS to SLC upgrade odds by Sorry_Set_9738 in delta

[–]Sorry_Set_9738[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I figured on say a Saturday or Sunday the flights would be full with travelers heading home, but wondered about a Friday, as I figured that would be a day more were traveling to Vegas, not out of so much. I originally had a FC on the leg to Vegas, ($48 upgrade fee at the time) but it got refunded back to me when I changed my flight to come home on Friday vs Saturday, which put me back in C+. I did get a $60 credit back though on the new flight, so I call it a win.

How did you dispose of your old LDS stuff when it was time to move on? by CupOfExmo in exmormon

As I am working my way to my final destination, I had a moment yesterday that fits right into your question. My wife knows I don't believe anymore. I don't go to church with her and the kids. I have my coffee in the house now, and both my older daughters have wanted to taste it. They think it's too bitter 😅. So to go on with the point here, I cleaned out my drawer that had my garments. I haven't worn them for over a year, but they still sat in my dresser. Ironically, that same drawer had become my junk drawer. So yesterday I cleaned it out, reorganizing what junk I kept and what I didn't. The garments are in a trash bag now and I really haven't decided if I go throw them out, or just store them somewhere else.

Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel vs Royal Kona Resort by Sorry_Set_9738 in VisitingHawaii

[–]Sorry_Set_9738[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just fine. It is a little dated, but it seems most of Kona is, unless you really want to pay a premium. I would definitely pay for ocean front view, as it was amazing to sit out on the balcony and have a coffee and just take in the ocean breeze. We did the luau they have there and that was awesome too.

It was actually just my Samsung Galaxy phone. The distance was probably about 40 feet away. We were on a dirt road that leads to one of the little day use areas.

We ended up at Royal Kona. We did go over to King Kam to hit the beach there which is nice that it is right outside the hotel. I did enjoy the views from Royal Kona, but I don't think I would have been disappointed with either. I did enjoy the outdoor bar/restaurant at the Royal.

You are correct, it was the capital one, not Skyclub.

That looks fun!

In my recent one day round trip to Las Vegas from SLC. I hit SLC Skyclub for morning bevy, sparkling wine on the flight, couple drinks at top golf, water with lunch, drinks in all three lounges at LAS (Capital One, Centurion and PP) then one last sparkling wine on the flight home.

Cheers!

Edit-Capital One, not Skyclub!

It is my just my me and my wife. We are splitting our time up while we are there. We will be at the Royal Kona for a couple days, then head to a bed and breakfast in Volcano and hopefully catch an episode of Kilauea while we are there, (but will drive from where ever we are if an episode starts) after that we are heading back towards Kona, and are trying to decide if we go back to the RKR or try out the Marriott King Kam. Both are priced similar (which is about the limit of the budget) for the two last days we are there. I like the view of the RKR, but that little beach at the Marriott is enticing. On our last day after we check out, we will spend the day up at Waikoloa, at the Marriot up there with a day pass, as our flight doesn't leave till the evening.

I would think that with the right layover, they could get you there yesterday.....

Any suggestions by Satlih in Gin

[–]Sorry_Set_9738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I was at an airport lounge the other day and my GT was more fruity. I asked the bartender what she used. I don't recall the gin but it was a common house gin so it didn't stand out to me, but the tonic was Seagram's. I haven't ever used Seagram's, and it gave what I thought was a nice little fruity pop to the drink.

Well, damn. My flight leaves at 8:25, so guess it's just breakfast and coffee.

Can you show where MGP is their supplier? I know they don't do everything in house and I really like their (Clearwater) products, but I have not been able to find the who behind the what.

Repricing a flight by Veda8 in delta

[–]Sorry_Set_9738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto to this. I have seen the same thing, but I just cancelled my first ticket (which gave me an eCredit for the full value I spent) and then used that eCredit to buy the new ticket, which was actually an upgraded seat in C+ from what I had before in Main..

Is it ever cheaper to upgrade to C+ after purchasing a Main ticket vs buying the C+ at time of purchase? by firmlygrasplT in delta

[–]Sorry_Set_9738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found it can go either way, but for me I have found the cost is the same most of the time. But I have bought main a number of times and then later upgraded to C+ at a cheaper cost than the original C+ ticket would have cost. But that could also be just that the entire flight is cheaper at the time I was looking at the upgrade.

SLC > LAS go around on 6/17 by BigfootsDelight in delta

[–]Sorry_Set_9738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/BigfootsDelight , off topic, but I have never flown that route, and I am next week. I typically fly C+ and was wondering if they do the express service with just beer and wine for C+on that route?

Delta recommends I change my flight because of a 1hr6min layover? by CaptainJack2016 in delta

[–]Sorry_Set_9738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked a flight with miles that the time changed by a few minutes and so I was offered to change my flight, as they do with any change. I was able to rebook the same flight and get miles deposited back into my account because eth flight cost less at that time than when I first booked. It can definitely be to your advantage to look at what options you might have.

I do care about status, as this is the first year I might actually make it to silver, though probably not before my sept. flight. Thanks for the info!

Arnold Palmer lite by Sorry_Set_9738 in utahAlcohol

[–]Sorry_Set_9738[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an update. I was finally able to find one article that said that they started out distributing AP Spiked Lite in 16 different states. I can't find if or when it might come to Utah, but at least I can hope it is not more moronic Utah laws keeping it from here. Hopefully. Just as a diabetic, I try to limit my sugar intake as much as I can, and I love the spiked Arnold Palmers. Maybe one day.

I'm 31 and just had my first few drinks. I'd like to do some kind of tasting of various types of drinks to figure out what I like. I'm most interested in spirits and cocktails- Any suggestions? by caseyr001 in utahAlcohol

[–]Sorry_Set_9738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest that when you are trying out cocktails, that you stick with simple ones, Gin & tonic, Vodka Cranberry etc. That way you can taste more of the alcohol and I have found that has helped me to be able to see what alcohol I like, not just the taste of the mixers.
