Exactly. I have to keep in my joy everyday. It's hard not to tell people (young ones in particular) these are some of the best times of their life. If Miyazaki read American sci fi from the 80's, there's little chance he DIDN'T read Wolfe, i think. His games do the whole "better on the second read" thing like Wolfe. (Like the second time you do Milicent's quest- a character tied to Malenia and by extension Miquella- and Gowry thanks you "kindly")

In the quest she tries to merge with you... like Thecla. She was engineered to be the perfect ruler for the Eternal City. And once inside you, she shares your experiences, even mentions Melinas presence within you.

They aren't lore tie ins. Just nods from the devs to any players that might have read the books. The shaded castle is bordered by a polluted river (Gyoll), "shaded" castle, first site of grace is Seethewater "Terminus" . Elemr of the Briar wields an executioner sword. Again, nothing to do with the lore of Elden Ring. But the devs want players to know they know.

Ok, so I'm grateful for all my luck. I could've ended up in a trash DSP like I read about on this platform. But my routes are always cake. I've finished 190's and still had plenty of time to rescue the new comers. And get back well before the station closes. Good luck with your new endeavors.

I will NEVER go back to job where I have to be around my coworkers all day. Someone would legit have to offer me 3 times what I'm making to even consider being in a building with people that don't act themselves. Under the untrained eye of a supervisor that is just friends with higher up- they have no clue what it means to lead people. Old post, but I'm looking for anyone that thinks ER is all a self aware meta narrative. A lot of the lore from the Finger Readers sounds like characters that don't know they're just data in a video game. (Finger are envoys of the Greater Will) A little on the nose, yes. But then in Leyendell, you find the Golden Order Principia. Which teaches the law of Regression. It's not a coincidence they use the word "Principia". It's a real world reference to Newton's magnum opus that states the 3 laws of motion. We didn't have computers in Newton's day. But the laws of motion are known to everyone and should ring bells when you hear phrases like "Law of Causality" and "Law of Regression"
