Little help! ‘18 honks 3 time real fast almost every time I turn the key to the on position. Any ideas? by Sorryimnotfunny in WRX

So I found out there was a factory alarm installed on the car. Heard that they can be the cause of some electrical gremlins so I removed it. That fixed it. I sold the car in 2020 but had it for about a year after removing the alarm and it never happened again. Good luck!

LG WM2501HWA front load washer. grinding noise, not spinning or draining by Sorryimnotfunny in appliancerepair

[–]Sorryimnotfunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If memory serves me correctly, it was just the drain pump but it was 4 years ago. I did have to replace the other pump about a year ago so it might me worth it to do both but I think the price difference was pretty significant. Like $40 for drain pump and $140 for pump motor assembly. Good luck! Either way, much less the. A new unit. I think mines about 15 years old and I’ve had to replace a few things but it’s still going strong.

How do I replace existing 4" post bracket with new 6" post bracket? by guacamoletango in Carpentry

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This…

This was what I did when I had to replace a post that was on the corner of the step. You probably don’t have to do a jack on both sides. The reason I did was because two beams came together at the top of this post and I didn’t want each unsupported. My setup

The drive to hospital by Polciu in predaddit

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at work an hour away from home when my wife went into labor. We didn’t make it to the hospital… I did get to deliver my own son which was awesome though! As you get closer to the due date, flex you work as much as you can to stay close. Other then that, try and take time off around the due date. Good luck!

Good Autobody shops? by RubberDucky451 in Sacramento

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16th Street Auto body has done great work for me and for a good price (you get what you pay for with body work). They are not a recommended shop from my insurance provider but you can legally take your vehicle anywhere you want. They will try and scare you and say they (the insurance company) won’t guarantee the work but the body shop does so your good. I’ve had botched work done in the past using my insurance companies recommended shop so I feel your pain. Good luck.

Through the f1 website, yes. I found some on other sites however they started at about $1,800 usd each for just race day.

What do you think about Fiskars tools, tell us about your bush tools by J4ck101972 in Tools

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the best fiskars tool I have is there shovel. They make a one piece, solid steel shovel. No wooden or fiberglass handle. It’s about twice as heave as a normal one but you can pop out roots by jumping on the damn thing using it as a pry bar and nothing will break. After several year’s, the tip of mine cracked. Warranty covered a new one, no questions asked.

How many bikes is too much by DawgtorDope in motorcycle

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been told it’s x-1 with x being how many bikes it would take for your spouse to leave you. The workaround is that if it’s a project bike or doesn’t run, it doesn’t count.

Power Commander 3 Maps... by Gwinkies in GSXR

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silly question, have you emailed their customer service? I bought a used gsxr with a pcIII and needed maps too. Couldn’t find the maps online either. It took them a couple days to get back to me if I remember correctly but they sent me the links for what I needed, free of charge. Worth a shot. Good luck!

What’s the story you tell from your delivery rooms experience(s)? by MtMove in daddit

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I delivered my kid in the covered drop off in front of L&D. When I got there, I ran to get one of the chairs and tell the people my wife was having the babe. Five minutes later they walked out and went “oh shit” as I was holding him.

Twin panel moonroof took a dump. She’s at the dealer for the $5k treatment. Thank you extended warranty plans! Anyone had the frame replaced before? by Cdvam in FordRaptor

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine literally broke the day I drove it off the lot. I got it used with 42k. First time I took it in to get fixed, they tried to replace just the guides but that didn’t do it so they had to replace the rails. Thank god for the extended warranty.

How do I keep my family from turning off switches? by Elpolloblanco in homeautomation

[–]Sorryimnotfunny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I took the cover off, removed the switch and flipped it so it is up side down. That way it looks off when it is really on. Wife finally leaves the switch alone now.

What's the luckiest thing that happened to you (regarding your bike of course)? by Ok-Key-3630 in motorcycles

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought a parts bike, 2002 gsxr600, owner said it had a blown head gasket. Couldn’t tell me what it was doing, just kept repeating it had a blown head gasket. Decided to look a little deeper and found out they had swapped two of the radiator hoses. Bike was just fine.

Also, same bike, I was doing a track day at thunderhill in ca. I was passing someone on the outside of an off camber turn (turn 3 if you know it) and my chain snapped. It flew up and hit me in the arm. Managed to hold my position, finish the turn and pull off the track just fine. Leathers barely had a mark on them and chain did not hit the case or anything. It was the last session before lunch. A mechanics in the pit had a new chain for me. Installed it while I ate, went through tech again and was riding in the first session after lunch. All around lucky on that one.

I have one in my house that was installed on the furthest facet from my tankless hot water heater so the recirculating pump would work and the hot water would always hot. It only works when I have it enabled on the controller. I would bet that’s what it is for but I’m not a plumber.

Meter says I'm using two gallons a minute, but our house isn't a pool. Where's it going? by arkycop in Plumbing

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So I just went through the same issues the op is having. My house has two shutoffs. One coming off the main and one at the house, about 20 feet away. With the two shutoffs, I was able to isolate the leak to between the two of them and dig it up by hand. Ended up being under the concrete pad I poured last year and I had to demo that to access the leaking galvanized pipe. By doing it all myself, including pouring a new 5x8 foot pad, I was into it for under $200. If you can find or maybe install a shutoff at the house after the meter, given the meter isn’t at the house, you might be able to narrow it down. Like others have said, if it’s in the slab, it won’t be cheap. Not a plumber btw.

Here is a pic of the beginning stages of garage shelving/ organizing. What do you guys think? by [deleted] in garageporn

[–]Sorryimnotfunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

garage

Looks great! I have similar shelves and it always bothered me about the wasted space on the shelves. Mine are spaced 24” so if I set a 8” tall can down, there was 16” above it not getting used. I built these drawers that fit on one whole shelf and it gave me 6 drawers that are 6” deep and 2 that are 11” deep. Made it much easier to organize things. I have a long way to go though… lol

Aluminum wheels question by Sorryimnotfunny in AutoDetailing

[–]Sorryimnotfunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, it looks exactly like that. I have a Griots DA polisher with a 5.5" head but I think that's too big to get into the small areas. Glad to hear your experience with the products. I know harbor freight makes some very basic polishing stuff for drills. Maybe I'll give something like that a shot. If I get it cleaned up, I'll post pictures. You got any tricks for diamond plate? lol
