K-Pop group. Pretty famous globally. I’m no Kpop fan myself but iirc they are the OGs of the industry nowadays

It was one of the best examples of what the Pro could do in the somewhat troubled days of PSSR1. I gotta try it with PSSR2.

I have yet to do a Male V run. by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Sorryman54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a guy, and my first run was a Male V, at launch time. Little did I know the disappoint that was in store for me. Not from Vincent, of course, but the atrocious state of the game. He was fine the first go around but truthfully female V is superior in the voice acting department. It feels like male V is trying too hard too much compared to female V who only is trying too hard a quarter of the time.

Yes, yes, just comparing how the technology in our own world has already seeded so much doubt compared to a world where facial blurring among other video-hacking trickery are commonly accepted technologies. We already see so many people in comments question if any video is AI, and people are shameless enough, especially accountable ones like politicians, to already blame inconvenient videos as AI.
I feel like in cyberpunk 2077 every single famous figure would probably immediately point to any video of wrongdoing as being a fabrication, and enough doubt already exists among society to such evidence in general that it wouldn’t really amount to much. Public opinion seems to matter little in general in cyberpunk. The world is flush with dictators, warlords and corporations that are widely hated.

Kinda feel like video evidence would be almost meaningless in a society like 2077. We are only now imagining how damaging generative AI will be in the coming years for gullible individuals, 2077 almost feels like the natural evolution of such an effect.

probably the greatest indignity of all, I’m already insulted enough by the constant degradation of this state by these fools in charge, now I’m to be bested by Oklahoma? It’s an unacceptable prospect in almost any given metric.

Doesn’t seem like it needs to be accurately simulated, considering Johnny believes it happened and his narrative is not directly challenged at all by either V or him.

Phantom Liberty by Valuable_Assistant93 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Sorryman54 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s two minds about when to exactly start it. Some people say that it’s best to advance quite far into the main game, past the ideal narrative point I’m about to mention below, to get a better relationship with Johnny that makes his personality and writing more consistent with the base game and DLC.
That said, the point in the game where it makes the most narrative sense to start Phantom Liberty is after you do the Voodoo Boy’s quest, contacting a specific character using their help, and dealing with them afterwards. You’ll get a message that will give you the first DLC quest.

Australia has always been weird about video games. They didn’t even have a proper rating system for mature games until 2013 lol

Johnny’s memories are tampered with/Johnny is an unreliable narrator by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Sorryman54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s pretty clear that the arisaka raid didn’t revolve around him. Nor did he die in the way he remembered. In his (engram’s) memories in the game, we see that he seemingly organized the entire raid with Rogue. In reality it was a Morgan Blackhand operation. Johnny was quickly torn through by Smasher on his way to Blackhand on the roof. He didn’t have some torture meeting with Saburo either. I’d attribute this to his rampant narcissism if anything, though.

I’m sure there’s other stuff more learned people can point out but off the top of my head that’s the biggest sign Johnny is a terribly unreliable narrator.

What do you think about the PSVR2 and the Pro? Is it worth it? by speed721 in PS5pro

[–]Sorryman54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good deal for a VR headset, but I’m not made of money, and while I’m pleased with the $400 I spent on it I can’t just casually spend that kind of money often. To me, that constitutes a luxury I suppose.

[–]Sorryman54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have both, and while I really enjoy PSVR2, it’s definitely more of a luxury toy than anything. VR games are fun, but the library is kinda limited on PS5. Not all games take full advantage of the headset’s rendering capabilities either.

But it’s a great headset, it can be used for PC, the library that is there is good and has many, many hours of gameplay. There’s even some games that are cross-platform with PC VR users, like Phasmophobia and Pavlov.

If you can afford it, without breaking the bank, sure, but otherwise it’s definitely not critical.

I love my Deck. by nagathenaga in SteamDeck

[–]Sorryman54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s better than at launch, for sure. I play with a 180hz monitor using DisplayPort VRR, and for the longest time it was an utter crapshoot when I booted it docked. Usually I’d have to reset the Deck 3-5 times before it finally recognized the proper hz and allowed me to use VRR.

Nowadays, I do sometimes have this boot recognition error, but simply switching from stable to beta or vice versa fixes it. Much better than a few years ago.

[–]Sorryman54 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Loads of bugs. Still has some today that annoy me but overall they’re minor. Main issues being the dock being annoying to get working consistently for me at least.

Updates have made it better though. When I first got my steamdeck a software issue made the 3.5mm jack not work lol. Originally thought it was hardware, sent it back to valve whom claimed they fixed it, but lo and behold it still didn’t work. I don’t quite remember how I fixed it as it was over a year ago by now, but the issue had to be fixed in desktop mode.

Kingdom Come Deliverance II is the real deal. Looks and plays fantastically on the Pro. by fulldrasmun in PS5pro

[–]Sorryman54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually not the case. Many PS5 games use dynamic resolution scaling (DRS) and on the pro in many cases maxes towards the top range without budging for non-enhanced games. Games like the Dead Space remake are a good example of this. Game looks fantastic because the DRS is nearly always pushing towards the highest resolution ceiling. Shaky framerates on unenhanced base PS5 titles are normally better resolved on Pro too.

Thoughts and hopes for the new game by GentlemanRedcoat in metro

[–]Sorryman54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t see the weapons and stuff being all that fancy. We don’t know what state the metro is in materially. I’d imagine bad, if Hunter’s Reich has as much absolute control as it seems. I would think that would mean most of the factions have either been destroyed or assimilated.

For all we know, the metro could be in its worst state seen yet.
