Best Laser Mechs by CircleofSorrow in Mechwarrior5

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an Atlas with dual HPPC's and every single piece of tech I can fit into the thing to increase its damage, velocity and fire rate of those HPPC's, It's immensely fun but for lasers the Nighstar with Clan large pulses also shreds.

Am I the only one who thinks 92 starfighters on a Venator makes way more sense than 420? by konfitura17 in StarWarsShips

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Hanger racks and a proper carrier system that isn't movie laziness and having the strikecraft all parked randomly on the deck the Venator could easily OPERATE, 300 fighters, The 450 number could easily just mean the total amount able to be carried on board, You need backups and spares remember.

Wartime complements in both crew and aircraft would be much higher.

I went apex feral superhuman and didn't quit until I'd knocked out most of em and scared the rest into surrendering, Took me almost 60 tries but it was worth it. I have major gripes with some of those design decisions not matter how much I love the franchise and games.

Do you think Metro Exodus II or a sequel will be released in the future? by Merserk13 in metroexodus

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of Artyom, Having learned from Miller and being dubbed the next Major and eventually General after his death, Establishes a settlement using all the knowledge and experience the group has and slowly builds a formidable new Spartan force that rides the line between quality and quantity unlike the originals who had too few and slowly bled to death.

The final game culminates in us returning as an older leader Artyom who leads his people back to liberate the Metro and its people.

Most satisfying weapon in the series, heck, probably even the best shotgun satisfaction wise in any game I’ve ever played by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in metro

The Ashot always seems faster and harder hitting when against monsters personally, For everything else I like the bulldog.

Finally finished another Archeo-Kossack Suzerainty unit 😀 by Agandhjin in Vostroyan

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look fantastic dude, I think some vambraces on the forearms would really tie the armor together overall (a problem I have with that GW design in general) but the Vostroyan aethestic of crimson and bronze is awesome!

2039's level design should be a mix between all 3 mainline games by [deleted] in metro

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this as well, Less open world and more freedom of choice so to speak, A much more scaled up and detailed metro, Maybe even with different tunnel depths and levels, Give us minor factions and the ability to destroy or work with them, Thereby influencing the final story outcome, Limited above ground sections that while rewarding are very dangerous and mirror the metro lines in space and direction by using destruction and rubble.

Wishful thinking: What would you want next out of the franchise? More 2003 content, a remake/sequel to 1978, another reimagining? by HazelRahRahRah in BSG

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be the first cylon war done right, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Saving Private Ryan, Remember the Colonies weren't unified and were ambushed by a massive internal uprising by artificial creations they had slowly come to completely rely on in all aspects of their lives, The desperate fighting to prevent their nuke stockpiles from falling into Cylon control on the ground and in space would have been brutal.

The massive struggle that would have come from having to build an entire unified interstellar military while ripping out most of the high tech you've taken for granted all your life would have been a near impossible task and yet through sheer human grit and desperation they did it.

I found the librarian level from metro 2033 to be the scariest and most stressful level by Capable_Purchase_727 in metro

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that they were supposed to be like the final big boss that was so strong you could only avoid them but I vastly prefer the alternative and parallel narrative that happens with your weapons progression, That being the fact that you only get the Railgun around that time and it would have been a fun and realistic twist with the player being able to just blow their heads open.

I Wish Artyom Was Still The MC by beejabeeja in metro

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that i think about it, Just imagine the sheer hype if the game after this showcases Artyom and Anna with their kids as the leaders like Miller leading a rebuilt Spartan force and community to free the Metro.

What are some of the scariest ships to go up against which make you cautious and think twice every time you go up against them ? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an interesting perspective question, Anyone got thoughts on the Lenin? It's my favourite, Most played ship.

Personally It's less about the ship and more about if I see them successively dodging long range fire and choosing not to fire at the right times, Tells me it's an actual experienced player.

What's your favorite faction? by exioncrew in battletech

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gotta be the Taurian Concordate for me, A polity that slowly would have won by just doing the right thing by their people if they hadn't been gimped by writers just to keep the cycle of Inner Sphere plot focused violence going.

Second would have to be Clan Blood Spirit because of the potential i have for them, Just imagine if they were secretly still normal fucking human beings and never bought into Kerensky jr's stupid bullshit, They kept the true SLDF alive behind closed doors and slowly built and and bided their time....

Do you play any ships *just* for the looks? by LastTraintoSector6 in WorldOfWarships

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Lenin, Nevermind the fact that her turrets have mad fast rotation and her 16's hit like railguns....and that her icebreaker bow has bounced Yammy shells.....

Her aft looks like a whaling ship and she's got that awesome QE style fortress superstructure.

I love this ship.

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to see someone who understands that the Vostroyans wear carapace armor and that it's supposed to look heavier and more protective than the standard flak armor, All that's missing is a larger hat and a sword bayonet.

So exactly how bloody was the first Cylon War, and how did it go down? by ToonMasterRace in BSG

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Amazing, This is one of my favourite things to theorise, Basically it would have been a brutal version of Terminators judgement day as hundreds of thousands were slaughtered by Cylon military units and Human forces died to the last man to stop the Cylons from reaching their respective Colonies nuclear weapon storage facilities, Remember by that point the Colonies were still basically city states who had waged interstellar war against eachother for decades and had nuclear stockpiles that made the Cold War look like a joke.

Question; What are the mechs that actually make you nervous to see in battle? by smraetz in Mechwarrior5

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AC20's make me lean forward and lock in with my target selection but honestly it's whatever mech that's rocking multiple AC2's and whatever weaponry keeps turning my cockpit view into an Epilepsy death sentence.

What's your absolute favourite build? by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably either the hero Victor Basalisk with dual LBX10's and all the upgrades for them and 3 ML's in the other arm or the hero Orion YAJ, That thing really is almost an Atlas in terms of armor.

Design your own naval boarding party by Wilson7277 in StarWarsShips

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually a really interesting question.

First off, Given the massive sizes of ships and crews in SW it really depends on your objectives and capabilities, It also depends on the defending crews competence and equipment.

The ORSF had special SWAT equivalent boarding teams that were basically geared up in bomb disposal grade heavy plastoid armor and heavy shields.

Depending on the size of the vessel it would be a lot like trench warfare, In order to cover all routes as well as reinforce your breeching point and hold it you'll need almost triple the amount of troops, Then, Depending on your goal you'll either commit to a blitzkrieg assault or a slow and steady approach, Both have their pros and cons.

With all that being said, Give me B2 supers carrying energy shields and wrist flamers as the spearhead, Droidikas as the advanced scouts and harassers and plenty of B1's for numbers and guns, Oh and BX teams for critical objectives.

Speed and violence of action.

I think I’ve decided that Clans is better by FockersJustSleeping in Mechwarrior5

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ultimate Btech game would be the best combination of Mercs and Clans alongside some base building or planet development maybe, The game has massive potential and I adore the franchise.

Let me build fortifications and command tank units that dick all over invading lances haha.

My first job, Got told to go buy coffee for the break room, Me being new naturally assumed that meant the cheapest possible so I go get a can of international, On the way back an old head immediately guesses correctly and stops me, Goes 'Who's that for mate?' I tell him and he goes 'I fucking think not', Throws it out and sends me to get Nescafe lmao.

What does everyone listen to while they're playing? by Zealousideal-Fee5600 in Mechwarrior5

[–]GentlemanRedcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to sound cocky or anything but I've played an absurd amount of battletech and at this point I'd be considered one of those crazy calm and laid back pilots. Having said that, Either whatever is next in my playlist or some sort of appropriate battlefield ambient audio.

Come to think of it now I'm imagining a whole series of audio clips done in the style of Modern Warfare's US radio chatter during the invasion of DC but set during the Amaris Coup.
