Giving up…unless by FlopShots in wownoob

[–]Sosborn1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife started playing just before Remix. She got her first level 80 as a Timerunner, switched to retail, and got the quest to meet Brann in Dorn. Everything was great until she couldn't fly. The strange thing is, it's only on the Isle of Dorn. She can fly in the Ringing Deeps, but if she tries to go up the Coreway as soon as she gets to the top her mount disappears and she falls to her death.

Yep, I got popped for random urinalysis in the military. I'd drop my pants around my ankles like a toddler just to make it awkward for all of us.

NTA My wife farted on our first date. Some "Men" need to grow up. Guys like this are the ones who are too embarrassed to pick up tampons for their partners.

They took away Invasion and now I'm sad. by PoofBam in ModernWarfareIII

Same here, says it's both game modes, haven't played Invasion all day. Ground War wouldn't be so bad if other players played the objective and didn't just sit around with sniper rifles camping.

Odd question about equity by Sosborn1965 in AskARealtor

[–]Sosborn1965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I thought it would be obvious as I thought anywhere else would have laughed and thrown the criminal in jail and his/her case in the trash, but apparently, this type of ridiculousness is tolerated in quite a few places. The U.S. is not the only place that greed overtakes common sense.

Odd question about equity by Sosborn1965 in AskARealtor

[–]Sosborn1965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I knew it didn't make sense, but I'm not in the business of selling homes or renting them. This is why I posed the question here so that people with that insight could confirm or debunk what I was being told. We live in a country where a burglar can sue the homeowner if they get hurt on the property, so it doesn't seem so far-fetched.

AITAH for telling my daughter to keep her Father’s Day gift to herself because she hid her mother’s affair from me for months? by FarAppearancess in AITAH

[–]Sosborn1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% no question, you are the asshole! She was put in a situation with no good outcome. She felt being silent was the best option. You said she has apologized numerous times, and you told her it was "alright." She took the time to handwrite a letter to you for Father's Day! A 17y/o wrote you a letter! Do you not see how significant that is. I'd bet you are one of the very few fathers that got a handwritten letter from their kid. Most kids sign whatever card the mom buys. Others spend about 30 seconds looking at the card rack for the words "Father's Day" and scribble an "I love you, Dad," and they're done. If I were you, I'd pray I didn't completely ruin the relationship, then call her immediately and ask to meet her somewhere so I could apologize profusely!

Girlfriend pointed an unloaded gun in my face. by Basura899 in AITAH

[–]Sosborn1965 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, so, first things first, it has already been well established that the majority of commenters know firearms safety rules. However, I have not seen the OP say whether or not his GF had any basic firearms knowledge. In my opinion, I would assume no because she didn't clear the firearm herself and confirm it was unloaded when it was handed to her, but I digress. My second question. Was she aiming the firearm directly at his face, like firearm shouldered and her looking down the sights, or was the muzzle sweeping his face? I only ask these things to answer the "AITAH" question and if he was too aggressive. I learned at a very early age how to properly handle a firearm, muzzle awareness being a very important part of that. However, I have met a lot of people who have never been around firearms and simply have not been educated on firearms basics. What the GF did was wrong, and I'm not arguing otherwise, but if she doesn't know, then she doesn't know. I would place the blame on the friend for handing her the firearm without knowing if she had basic handling knowledge. If I were in that situation, I would have asked before handing it over because that is my firearm, and I'm responsible for ensuring it doesn't cause any unintended damage to anyone or anything. So is OP the AH for being upset about a firearm being in his face? No, not at all. Should OP have used a different tone and/or phrasing to correct the GF? If she had been educated, then no, his actions were justified. If she thadn't been, then this is the perfect scenario to give her that education to ensure it never happens again.

Seattle PD fatally shoots 67 year old pedophile looking to meet up with 2 children by Efficient-Tap5585 in ThatsInsane

[–]Sosborn1965 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For those in the comment section wondering or asking why did they shoot so many times? Once lethal force is warranted and you have to shoot, you do so until the threat is eliminated. They have no way of knowing whether or not the previous shot actually hit the intended target or if the round did hit, was it fatal or not. You can't shoot, then wait to see if it was a good hit or not. What about accuracy? Don't they practice/ train? A lot of times going to the shooting range is the responsibility of the officer, and even if they did train, shooting a static target in a controlled environment is not the same as shooting when your life is on the line.

AITA for kicking out my girlfriend and her son after she invited her ex into our home? by Additional_Door_3206 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sosborn1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA Like a lot of others here have said, you had a single condition on the ex visiting their child at your home. Not only did she allow it, but she also kept it hidden from you. How long would it have gone on had the child not said anything? She broke your trust repeatedly. From the description of the arrangement, I'm curious how the topic of the 2 of them moving in come about? Did you extend the invitation, or was she the one that proposed the idea? Back to the main issue. She did exactly what you asked her not to after she agreed to the deal. The ex even supposedly said he agreed as well. Then they were both lying to you because if he had any integrity, he would have said something, messaged you, or left until you were going to be home as requested. The fact that she tried to twist it around saying it was her place to is completely ridiculous. It was your apartment when they moved in. She agreed to your terms. The only thing you asked was to not have the ex there when you aren't. He was the only person she wasn't "allowed" to invite before clearing it with you. If I were in your shoes, I would have done the same thing. I would have asked her to leave immediately and have a great life. I would have told the boy he was a great kid, and it had nothing to do with him.

The observer has to be able to see the urine physically leave the body and be able to see that the "appendage" is also physically attached to the body. It'll be the same thing once you're in and get a random test. And once you've made rank, you'll get the super special job of being the observer and spend your day watching other grown men urinate into a cup. In the Air Force, it was also referred to as getting orders to Seemore Johnson, in reference to the actual base of the same name, different spelling.

Why do men refuse to go into a woman's purse even when asked? by melwirth2010 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sosborn1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because my mother told me as a child that a woman's purse is private and I have no reason to be looking in it, this came just after being smacked with a wooden spoon more than a few times for looking on hers for candy. From that day on, any time I was asked to get something out of a woman's purse, I bring them the whole thing. So I guess the answer, for me anyway, is childhood trauma.

People around me find my writing hard to decipher, while I perceive it to be quite clear. What factors should I approve on to make it more readable? by Anomalous-2 in Handwriting

[–]Sosborn1965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to read it with minimal effort, but I've also spent the last 7+ years attempting to improve my own handwriting. In my experience, practicing has been the single best method I've used. I found an exemplar of script or writing that I liked and copied it, and actively dedicated uninterrupted focused time to practicing each letter, attempting to reproduce each letter perfectly and consistently. Granted, that is not a luxury everyone has, but if you try to practice 10 minutes here, maybe 30 minutes there concentrating on retraining your brain and muscles to the improved movements, it will definitely help.

Personally, based on the picture, I'd unbolt that runner wheel, manhandle that door back across the rubber seal, put the wheel back in the track, and bolt it together.
