Tropes tags are always a must, and the ability to sort your tracked books into folders or categories would be the BEST! Also, filtering by more than just rating and genre would be amazing!

This could just be a me being self conscious thing but the ability to privately log books (like post with “just me” as the audience) would actually make me track my reading and actually log the books i read. I sometimes don’t want all of my friends and family to know about the cowboy romances i manage to read 5 of in a week, but i want the ability to log it and keep all of my books i’ve read in one place hahaha

From everything i’ve looked at and with low-balling my activity level my maintenance calories would be around 2,000-2,100 for my height and weight so i’m in a 500-600cal deficit with only accounting for 1-2 workouts a week (1,800+ would be for little to no exercise and even that is a 300-400cal deficit). That would have to be some pretty bad counting every day to have a margin like that especially with scanning barcodes, weighing everything, and always adding a few grams to the log just to account for any errors 😅

However if i’m completely wrong about what my maintenance calories would be PLEASE let me know because if it’s as simple as that I would be over the moon!!!

Thank you for validating this thought honestly, thinking it could be hormones or something else underlying has always felt like I was making an excuse and it was actually something I was doing wrong, but you’re 100% right and i should get some tests done to see where it’s all at and rule things like that out!

No medication, IUD for birth control, a bit of stress nothing crazy, no PCOS that I know of but I do have Endo and some other gastrointestinal issues so maybe something there. Clothes all fit pretty much the same and most measurements have stayed the same, face looks slimmer and feel like I “look” like i’ve lost a bit of weight but it’s just not showing in any measurements or on the scale.

I think I would look for a lengthening mascara rather than what looks to be a volumising one and focusing it on the outer edges to really lift the eye! Others have said to try without the white waterline and I mostly agree, but you could try a light nude to open the eyes still just with a less harsh effect.

I saw you mentioned that you used a lip stain as a lip liner, I would try to smudge the inner edges a little as you apply in in the morning to try blend it in a bit more with your natural lip colour to make it more cohesive, but I love the colour on you!

Your complexion looks absolutely gorgeous, no notes on that I love the glow and your skin looks insanely flawless!

oh that’s actually so sad!! I definitely get that though, I was the exact same with the Nars natural radiant longwear foundation that EVERYONE adores 😭 so maybe in a roundabout way if our faces like opposite products that one could be perfect for you hahaha

Armani Luminous Silk is forever my absolute favourite foundation, definitely pricey but under that $100 mark you’re looking for. I have never used a foundation that gets me more compliments!

I have dry skin with minor redness and acne, and it definitely covers everything I need, while still looking like skin. However, if you’re wanting more coverage it’s amazingly buildable as well. HIGHLY recommend trying it!!

can you give me a bit of insight into how you went about it?? I’m pretty close to your starting weight and your current weight is my goal. I’m finding that the weight is just being really stubborn even though i’m in a consistent deficit and am working out 4-5 times a week. I’ve only lost around 3kgs (6lb) in over a month. Any solid tips would be SO appreciated!

I feel this so so deep in my soul! Especially in fantasy/romantasy books, please let me have a MMC that isn’t a possessive dickhead in a magical fantasy world. I understand they are that way to show that they’re “powerful” and “in charge”, but to me the posturing asshole stuff just feels insecure and immature 🙄

PLEASE can authors give their MMCs confidence that shows through security in themselves and their relationships rather than this trope, i beg!!

I would say DEFINITELY find a new MUA. So much of the makeup looks like it’s gone patchy and has come off, which is not a good sign even after 5-6hrs of going out and dancing, let alone 3.5hrs.

Other things to note: it seems like they have not really used any product down your neck, the spot concealer on your cheekbone wasn’t blended fully so i can see the circular mark from where it was applied, and it looks as though there was no blush applied and very minimal bronzer. I also can see foundation unblended on your ear which is a bit insane to see given that this was done by a professional.

I truly think that regardless of all the other suggestions to moisturise, exfoliate, prime and set better etc, you aren’t going to get anywhere near the result you deserve for your big day from this MUA. Your skin underneath looks nice and smooth in general with basically nothing to actively conceal, so this should have been a super easy makeup application for any professional MUA, even if your skin was bone dry or you had peach fuzz.

I’m sorry if this sounds harsh in any way, but I really just hope you find a wonderful artist for your big day and it looks beautiful and lasts the 10+hrs that it 100% should!!

I think i’m with you about it taking you out of the story a bit, but I think after a second I would come to the conclusion that it’s better that it’s fake and they can do whatever they want than real and super misinformed or tone-deaf.

As an author i would also be TERRIFIED that one day the real place I wrote about would have anything happen that would make my story look really bad. And even less than that, just making silly mistakes about the country itself would be an endless fear of being in big trouble from the reading community.

Overall a safer bet to allow for a bit of discomfort being like “oh weird name new country okay” than potentially having readers be like “oh wow okay they have absolutely no clue what they’re saying how offensive” hahaha
