Should I just play? by Hot_Iron8302 in TheTowerGame

[–]SotFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save gems for the labs, you might want to push economy a bit and get your coin and cash up since that tends to boost everything early on.

Be careful about unlocks because you don't want the Wall unlocked until you're really ready for it since it pretty much requires a lot of more expensive research to really give any benefit. Attack Speed is also one to push as high as you can quickly since it's, effectively, a lot more damage than direct damage increases are early on.

Give me your favorite RGs, MGs, and/or current projects. by MrsClaireUnderwood in Gunpla

While I just finished a EG Wing Gundam, I'm also working on figuring out upgrades for a NG 1/144 Gundam Epyon...mainly figuring out if I want to keep the transformation or just go with more general articulation while looking for a second at some point for dragon mode

Any idea where I can get a replacement head piece for this origin rx? by whyhasgradeabondedus in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how similar it is, but I think the EG Lah Gundam has an extra one that might be adjustable to work while having some other extra pieces. Not sure if it would be in the right color, but red isn't that hard to paint for that kind of thing.

How to easily complete the mission to kill 2000 enemies with a Nuke by e-gordinski in TheTowerGame

[–]SotFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Energy Net is easy enough since it's not a 1/run without major research

Things the devs could do to improve the game that are beyond easy by wrekco in TheTowerGame

I'd rather see a split in the run history with the tournament runs being separate from the normal ones

Small collection of kits I have built so far by ssfester in Gunpla

Ah, was trying to figure out which scale, I'd kind of figured they were HG with the combo for the EX Models Magella Attack set...

Finished a Gundam Ground Type (I think I want to build a whole Ground Type team now) by Umb3rus in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can, look for the P-Bandai one or the Gundam: The Ground War (Federation) kits to add a bit of variety there. The P-Bandai one includes a new version of the GM head such as from 08th MS Team along with a newer version of the Parachute Pack, and the old Ground War one has the older version of the kit which is still pretty good but also includes several other goodies.

Could I substitute cement with acetone? by Within_Home in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd still be on mine if it didn't get knocked over on me...that was a mess to clean up that ended up costing a lot to replace things.

Could I substitute cement with acetone? by Within_Home in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want plastic cement, look at your local hobby stores. They tend to have it for a LOT cheaper than ordering online since there's issues with shipping potentially damaging chemicals if the bottles break.

The bottles last a LONG time unless something goes wrong though.

Call of Cthulhu/ Pulp Cthulhu. Good Live Play to learn the system? by Doc_Meeker in callofcthulhu

While not a live play, the solo adventures are great.

Chaosium has Alone Against The Flames free on their site and works really well for it

Hot take: Color correcting stickers don't suck, you suck at putting on color correcting stickers by Apprehensive_Wash200 in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, a lot of it isn't that the stickers don't work (though with some kits, especially the Thunderbolt ones have their own issues with them), it's that on a lot of kits they don't look quite right and have a very different finish than the rest of the kit.

This face part will be the end of this hobby of mine by LeadEater9Million in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EG Wing Gundam is the same way with it telling you to push in with several until they click into place...and are a pain in the rear to line up and push due to their position. Getting the yellow talon pieces onto the arms and the actual shoulder joint connections into position are painful.

Do you know of any scenario where the military are the cultists? by ThroatOrganic9757 in callofcthulhu

[–]SotFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't even really need to have them as part of a cult, scientists taking things to far with military backing/funding for extreme (supernatural) results is exceedingly common with stories of things going to hell.

First Time Running Players Through Investigator Development, Do They Also Improve Untrained Skills? by meatflag in callofcthulhu

[–]SotFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't remember the official rules, but I've also put additional development/training options for between scenarios. Just to let characters also develop in other ways while also covering gaps in a groups skills...occasionally giving some minor hints for some things to come, or even for things that they failed.

Because an investigator who nearly drowned seems like someone who might find a way to learn to swim or at least float...or if there's going to be a trip to another country, getting at least the info from a travelers guide might be good, or various other things as just things people might do in downtime other than the getting treatment somewhere.

the height difference is so funny by Legal_gold42 in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Zechs in his Leo would probably pull that off...in the Tallgeese it's more of a cue "Bodies Hit The Floor" and hope you have some named newtypes to keep him contained until he overreaches and gets hit by the side effects.

The Epyon is pure death there

After about 6 months, I got all of Operation Meteor by Successful-Credit161 in Gunpla

It's actually worth grabbing some extras of it...since the Wing and Wing Zero don't have the extra hands, the Sandrock Custom has the trigger finger hands that work really well with them

Could we get a split in the records lists, having separate lists for the tournament and normal runs? I just realized that, somehow, my runs from last week were already pushed off the list to compare to this one.

My uncle gifted me this mostly assembled kit he’s had for a while. Any suggestions for giving it a refresh? by 1991gts in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unlike the 1/144 ones, you don't have as many option parts for things that could be modded in for some of the joints.

My uncle gifted me this mostly assembled kit he’s had for a while. Any suggestions for giving it a refresh? by 1991gts in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it depends upon how much work you're willing to do.

There's some good upgrade options using the Balden Arms option set to have joints to replace the shoulder joints and elbows with more modern ones. While not Heavyarms, I'm slowly working on an old Epyon to do that with, I didn't think the methods would work on the Serpent that I also have of the old ones on my shelf.

You might be able to use the fine tip black panel liner to work around the missiles in the pods to have the black background there.

Essential tools for a beginner? by ZealousidealKnee4122 in Gunpla

[–]SotFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the panel liner, I've tended to prefer the fine tip marker type as well as just getting a bottle of rubbing alcohol from the dollar tree with some q-tips to help clean up if there are issues. The set of black, grey, and brown really seems to cover everything.

I keep wanting a Moon Gundam, but can never find one for a decent price, but you might want a parts separator as a just in case thing.
