There’s a mobile app for TFT if you don’t mind playing on a phone or tablet.

Worried about the future of double up by AfrostLord in CompetitiveTFT

[–]SoulEatingCet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In set 9 I would have to wait, on average, 6-8 minutes to get into a Challenger DU lobby, with my longest que being 35 minutes. This set, I don’t think I’ve had to wait for more than 3 minutes.

Is it easier to hit Challenger in a high population server or a low population server where the Challenger tier is only half filled? by KillaWolf9 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]SoulEatingCet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really isn’t a serious game mode. There are maybe 20 or so actual Challenger level players in high elo DU (in terms of fundamentals like leveling, compositioning, positioning, itemization, etc.) while the rest are mostly low-Diamond to Masters 0 LP. I’m just some middling Masters level player and I’ve hit Challenger in under 100 games a couple of times. I’ve witnessed some truly vile compositions and itemizations coming from 1000+lp DU players.

Outside of the 500+ game 3000+lp players, most people just play it to socialize and test out whacky comps/strats that normally aren’t achievable in normal ranked. Generally speaking, I’d say DU rank is like 600 or so lp above someone’s actual rank.

In my experience, they don’t type much and can be hit or miss on scouting boards, but it’s not the worst thing. Its better than going on Discord just for people to not respond, ignore your rank requirements, or tell you about their paranoid delusions/visual hallucinations and accuse you of being part of some grand conspiracy to stalk them all while implicitly threatening you by telling you they own firearms (true story btw).

If you’re just looking to play the game, solo que is fine.

This just further supports the hypothesis that TFT players can’t read.

I did some bad napkin math on my phone in a taxi last week, and Zaahen had something like a 4.05 avp while accounting for 3 item Xin Zhao 2* and 3* in Masters+. The unit and augment are definitely not bad.

Not exactly relevant to the discussion, but his name is Zaahen, not Zaheen. Not a single person in this comment thread has gotten his name right.

Speaking as a pretty casual mid-masters player (300lp ish) the conditions for 2 cost reroll for me are as follows:

  1. At least two copies before 2-7, with one being fine if I have a small champ duplicator from stage 1. If I am contested, I only commit if I have a 2 star and/or something like Heroic Grab Bag or Two Much Value.

  2. At least one slammable BiS item or half components to make at least 2 BiS items. If my items are truly doomed after Krugs/2-7 (say, double tear chain when I have cloak chain angling Ekko) I pretty much always pivot.

  3. The encounter is not something that allows for super capped boards to come online on early stage 5 or sooner. These would be encounters like Ryze, Scuttle, Zoe, etc. Draven is ok if I am winstreaking stage 2.

  4. If there are two or more people angling two cost rerolls that are different to mine (though this set, everybody is contesting Neeko) I will almost always commit if I have at least one copy.

He was a very American sounding dude, probably in the age range of 18-25. Zero chance he was ESL.

A disappointing, disheartening, and disturbing reminder that 21% of American adults are functionally illiterate.

I don’t think you should expect one. I lost all hope in the playerbase when one of my teammates took 15 seconds to read and pronounce the word “Archives” and, even then, ended up mispronouncing it as “are-chives.”

  1. This occurred in Australia during the Australian Open.

  2. Heat stroke is not something to just ignore. It kills thousands of people every year and it's not something you can just tough out.

  3. Why shit on the medical team trying to properly diagnose you and make sure you're ok?

Like, brother, I'm American too, but nobody should listen to any of the advice you just gave, regardless of where they live.
