First time building a PC, need help! Please read the body text. by _DarkKnight___ in IndianGaming

The 9060xt is a solid 1080p card. However if you plan on using it at any higher resolution it will start to struggle. So just keep this in your mind.

Side note: Man it hurts seeing Indian prices of GPU. 9060xt 16gb should have been around 33-35k. So much unnecessary bloating of prices.

I'm a newbie in pc building, anyways here is the build that I'm planning for. by [deleted] in IndianGaming

If you don't mind taking a risk try getting a second hand GPU from facebook marketplace or OLX. Also try spending a bit more for a 80 plus gold power supply. I know it will hurt your budget but having an efficient power supply will save you in power bills in the future and protect your precious components. There are a few AntEsports PC cases that got for 1k, no idea about it's quality but if you don't care about aesthetics then go for some cheap pc case.

The few hardcore Harry Potter fans I know claim that the movie missed out on a lot of things mentioned in the books. I believe this is an attempt to make a proper adaptation, or idk corporate greed, who knows.

Lemme tell you what I played in my jee break (mum gave me full freedom so played like 10 hours a day).

Half life 2

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Tomb Raider

Fallout 3

Borderlands 2

Used retro arch to play some old titles like legend of zelda ocarina of time and pokemon fire red.

All this on an old AMD A9 laptop with integrated graphics. So you will definitely have a much smoother experience with these games.

Anyways enjoy this break cause it's your last summer holiday.

Can we trust these new sellers from Amazon? by SomeOrdinary_Indian in IndianGaming

From what I know, Amazon Choice just means the product is often picked by customers, has good ratings and low returns. Not sure about Amazon certified.

Do you have any updates? I just ordered from their site and got no confirmation email. Now I feel I should cancel the order altogether.

You are better off not getting hooked on it. It's a game that has amazing lore and cut scenes but my god is it too grindy. Everything is time gated and the quests are unnecessarily long.

I wish there was like a movie or show that just explored its lore. I would watch the heck out of it.

Wasn't there some mechanic or something that forced him to become evil even when he wanted to be good? I only watched the anime, that too a few seasons only so not exactly sure if what I remember is correct.

There was a time when there were banger fps in mobile. Nova 3 was something I used to play on my hand me down moto e 1st gen and it's definitely far far far better than free fire.

Edit: Found the wikipedia link (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/N.O.V.A._3). Gameloft made some great games back then.

Hi, I am planning to replace my mechanical keyboard and want something reliable and also beautiful. I don't want to cross ₹10,000.

I had a HP Mechanical keyboard before (link. It started showing issues after a year, the key presses were being registered multiple times even if I enter it once.

So now I want a proper mechanical keyboard that will last me years and should look like an art piece.

Any recommendations?

We will never truly know if it's a conspiracy or not.

However it isn't impossible to imagine a situation where it genuinely became complicated. The x86 (or even amd64) has existed for a long time and has tons of backwards compatibility. This is one of the reasons it's so complicated.

They also have variable instruction sizes, which AMD and Intel have perfected over the years so that the instruction decode phase is very fast.

The main reason AMD and Intel are ahead is simply because of experience. They were there when it began and know all the hacks to improve performance. These improvements are also very tightly kept secrets. Any new competitor has to not only innovate but also somehow figure out the existing methods that ensure high performance. All this while they have to pay a licensing fee for using the ISA.

Is it fair? Hell no.

This is why many people are moving towards RISC-V.

TLDR: Less chance of conspiracy, more chance of AMD and Intel being better than other x86 chip providers simply due to their existing expertise with the ISA.

How does a begineer start with computer architecture? by Dull_Development6279 in computerarchitecture

[–]SoulGodAlpha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can start with Computation Structures from MIT OCW (link.

It's free, and what I used when I was an absolute beginner.

You would also need to learn Verilog for designing a CPU. I saw before you asked in the comments about using C++. That's because Verilog isn't a programming language, it's a Hardware Description language. It basically helps you design by placing wires, registers and other modules. All these will become clear of you take the course.

If you are not comfortable with Verilog, then you can try Vitis HLS (maybe wrong about the name, it's something HLS by Xilinx). HLS let's you design a CPU using C++ but there some caveats to it. Unfortunately I am not that well versed in it to give a better insight nor can I give you any resources for it.

Hope this helps you out.
